Anyone can be beaten on any given day, with that said highly doubtful to no chance for this one. Coaching comparison isn't remotely close, plus Saban in a game one scenerio with all this time to prepare (and Lane Kiffen has some revenge on his mind) does not bode well for the play it safe hiring of Clay Helton.

I mean USC does have the home advantage for the game but yeah even still I think Alabama has the edge with what you said.

Their HC hire still quite baffling. They have the Ugly Duckling Syndrome right now, settling for less than they deserve because they have't been elite in a hot minute.

USC has potential as a team because they recruit well and have a good bit of talent.

If they reach that potential or not will remain to be seen. Alabama is the favorite for obvious reasons, but this game isn't a freebie by any means.

Depends on Alabama's QB play.

As a first game of the year, that adds to the unpredictability factor. They're playing in a basically indoor stadium so weather won't be a factor. If you played this during the middle of the year it would be more certain. The first game of the season probably increases the luck factor.

I'd reduce if from Alabama being a 13 point favorite to only being a 6 point favorite.

this is true.

When Oregon and LSU played to open the season, the Ducks made far too many mistakes as giving LSU the fall 4 times, yet only lost by 13.

USC could use a few breaks to go their way. Example early on in his career Justin Davis had fumble problems. Bo Scarborough has what 18 carries to his name in what I would bet is garbage time. Cough one up for us bo.

If it's the qb repeatedly beating USC on 3rd and long then you live with that.

Biggest mismatch is the Bama OL vs that green USC DL. To beat Bama you need to get them out of their comfort zone. USC's strength should be the run game on offense and defending the pass. USC #1 offensive strength = Bama's defensive strength (historically under Saban). USC's defensive vulnerability = Bama's offensive strength. Just a bad match-up for USC. Unless USC can get a couple early big plays and grab a lead, I see Bama wearing them down.

Alabama could lose if they're not careful about eating some of that weird California cuisine.... but the Trojans prolly won't bring that crap to Arlington.

I guess that is a good way of looking at it. They lost by 2 TD's and they were down 17 at the end of 3. It was close in the 1st half and then Oregone had no chance after that.

You don't want to be here if that happens. I mean right now most of the USC fans are content with picking on Oregon's QB woes or making stoned and incoherent rants on fringe boards after they have said they are quitting this place.

If USC wins that game their fans are going to feel empowered on the national stage again and they will spill out all over this mother fucker. God help you all if that happens.
