It appears that Sales got into a heated argument with White Sox front office people who refused to let his good friend, and business partner, "miamivice" have access to the White Sox clubhouse and dugout.

CHICAGO -- The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox will continue a bizarre evening on Sunday afternooon.

Play was suspended Saturday night in the midst of a third rain delay at U.S. Cellular Field. The tarp came on the field for the third time at 11:22 p.m. ET with the Tigers and White Sox tied at 3 after eight innings. After about 45 minutes of heavy rain, umpires determined that further waiting would be fruitless.

But the most intriguing story centered on White Sox ace Chris Sale, who was scratched from his start and sent home after reportedly cutting up the throwback uniforms scheduled to be worn by the team Saturday night.

The Tigers (51-46) trail the Toronto Blue Jays for the wild card spot by only 2 1/2 games.

After Saturday's game is finished, the regularly scheduled Sunday game will begin. Anibal Sanchez (5-11, 6.60 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Tigers against Jose Quintana (8-8, 3.13).

Is Sale going to pitch today? (I hope not)

Avila stated that Tigers will probably not be involved in any deadline trades. He said even the price of a 5th starter was too steep. Nice spin. Could the real truth be that Detroit has little to offer in the way of prospects to get a player who could help the team?

Thanks Dave!!!!

You know, this AL parity (mediocrity) is really playing into Detroit's hands. The top 10 teams in the AL are separated by only EIGHT games. Detroit is not only 2.5 games out of a wild card spot...they are only 5.5 games behind the team with the best record in the American League!!! I'm not saying they can make up that ground....but they are in the middle of the battle.

You are right they very little or nothing anyone wants.....maybe a they also looking at JD, Zimmermann and Norris as their trade dead line additions....the Tigers are only 2.5 out of the wild card with mess their starting pitching is in and not having a RFer for a month....

The Tigers and White Sox endured three rain delays Saturday night before umpires finally suspended action just before midnight.

The Tigers will begin the suspended game at bat in the top of the ninth inning. Ausmus said closer Francisco Rodriguez will pitch the bottom of the ninth if the Tigers take the lead. Otherwise, Justin Wilson will pitch.

Buck Farmer is back.....

Brad Ausmus is a disgrace for putting in Rondon in the 9th.

Weak. You would have bashed Ausmus no matter who he put in. If he put in K-Rod and he lost, people would have yelled (just like a few days ago)...never put in your closer in a non-save situation.

If he put K-Rod or Greene in I would have blamed the players. Get off Ausmus' jock.
