Do they work all year?

I gotta imagine winters are real rough here.

He doesn't have that job anymore, but as you suspected, it was seasonal.

He and his wife live there year-round, as does one older lady on his street. He told me all the other houses on that street are occupied by snowbirds (summer residents only). During the cold months, it is very quiet.

Mel Ott was the fastest NL player to do it. 2052 games. I think this is Miggys 2034th.

Gehrig blows that out of the water. But Cameron Maybin ain't Babe Ruth ahead of him either. Lol

The reports from Arizona of Mggys decline seem to be greatly exaggerated......

STARTING PITCHERS
Detroit Tigers
LHP Matt Boyd (1-2, 4.91 ERA)
Chicago White Sox
LHP Chris Sale (14-3, 3.18 ERA)
GAME NOTES
--Miguel Cabrera had a big Friday night as the Tigers won their second straight in this series in Chicago. That leaves the Tigers six games behind Cleveland in the American League Central and three games behind Toronto in the race for the second wild card spot.
--It's lefty vs. lefty tonight in Chicago. Chris Sale has been dominant again this season for the White Sox, tied for the American League lead in victories. Sale is 1-1 with a 4.73 ERA against Detroit this season.
--Matt Boyd had perhaps his best start last time out, allowing no runs and three hits in six innings against the Twins. He struck out seven and walked one.

July stats from our #3 and #4 hitters: V-mart is 9-for-60 (.150). Cabrera is 12-for-52 (.231) with only 1 XBH and 2 RBI.

That's gotta turn around, or the Tigers will be sellers in 10 days.

Hey Howie....when did you move to Arizona?????

Not blaming anyone. Just pointing out that other people noticed a prolonged slump. Miggy is 33 years old, heavy, and I don't think anyone every called him a "health nut". I'm just saying a downturn in his performance would not surprise me. Hopefully for Tiger fans AND all of Detroit, Miggy's decline is a slow one and he goes from Great to merely Very Good in the next 4-5 years and avoids a sudden drop in production like often occurs in players as they get older.

Game notes: The White Sox have scratched lefty ace Chris Sale due to a "non-physical clubhouse incident" and will start reliever Matt Albers, who has pitched in the first two games of this series. Albers has thrown two shutout innings while allowing one hit. ... After Friday night’s thrilling 7-5 comeback win, the Tigers are six games behind the Cleveland Indians in the AL Central and three behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the second wild card. ... In the third game of this four-game set, the Tigers and White Sox both send lefties to the mound. Matt Boyd goes for the Tigers, coming off a stellar performance Monday when he three-hit the Minnesota Twins over six innings of a 1-0 win. The White Sox beat him up for six runs over 4 1/3 innings June 13.

Non physical Clubhouse Incidents can't be good.

This is what happens without a LaRoche kid runnin' around.

(Much appreciated burf!)
