Yep... $9.5 million for a 24 year old corner. And we just paid 15 million a year for a 28 year old corner who's only team he has been on in the league was NOT going to pay him that much. Carolina has a pretty good defensive talent man...

Are you crazy? Don't even compare the two. Look back and see who Norman SHUT DOWN last year. Who did Amerson shut down? Carolina should of paid him b/c they are going to have big problems in the secondary this year. Good Luck with Jones, Evans, and Cooks Carolina. This is one of the reasons why Carolina is not the favorite to get back to the Super Bowl this year. Their strength is in there run defense.

I think Normans Talent was more a product of the system in Carolina than you want to accept. And apparently so do the Panthers. For all the reasons you stated, you dont just let shutdown corners walk out the door unless you know something every one else doesnt. Do I think he is going to suck?? No. But I dont think he is going to live up to the contract we just gave him. Again, they could have simply kept him on the tag. They had the cap room. I question any time some one says something is one of the best available... but I dont want it.

I agree but we have the pass rushers to make it happen. Short is going to want a Fletcher Cox type deal. Plus they drafted another dlineman in Butler in the first round. They expect their DT's to get double digit sacks per season which is a huge reach. I just think they regress this year b/c their secondary is a huge question mark.

OH I have no doubt you will hold me to that. And I dont follow the Panthers like that to know their roster. But I wager you wouldnt even know who Josh Norman was if he had not played for the Panthers last year.
