To put things in perspective

Dallas' @DPDChief says "2 snipers" shot "10 officers" with "3 officers deceased, 2 in surgery, 3 critical."

Quit watching the game early when my wife told me officers were being shot in downtown Dallas. I know quite a few Dallas officers. Prayers to the families of the officers that loss their lives. Several of the officers were shot in the back while they tried to engage one of the shooters. 4 dead now.

Dead guy can't talk. Better to get them alive and interrogate. Have to find out the larger picture and if more involved and other attacks planned. You can get a lot out of a wounded suspect too.

Black Panthers. I think one or two cells were activated after the recent events in Louisiana and Minnesota.

I believe their motive was to shoot the Police and create enough confusion to where the Police would shoot innocent protesters in a cross fire. However the DPD is a great force and protected the protesters.

First of all, that wasn't the gunman. He was initially a person of interest, but he was later seen on film marching peacefully with the protesters when shots rang out. He is the brother of the guy who organized the rally. He has been cleared.

Secondly, this has nothing to do with open carry. Nothing. The guys who did this weren't openly carrying weapons out and about. These were cold-blooded killers who I guarantee you didn't own those weapons legally.

And lastly, bad guys are going to carry weapons whether there is an open carry law or not. I guess you prefer your bad guys to keep their guns hidden before killing?

Take your misinformed politics elsewhere. This wasn't a republican or democrat killing. This was cold-blooded murder born from hatred.

Also, I accidentally saw the video of the one officer being executed at close range (thanks Fox 4 for the "could be disturbing" limited warning). It was sickening. He ran up to a pillar to exchange gunfire with the killer on the street, and while he was peeking around the pillar one way, the killer ran around the other way behind him and blew him away. Then he stood over him and shot him multiple times. The officer's body just laid there motionless for the rest of the video and it took his fellow officers several minutes to get to him. It was so awful.

Things shown by any media outlet normally bothers me in that I think it is irresponsible to the public and to loved ones. But we keep hearing and seeing what the police do wrong and never what they do right and maybe in this case the public needs to see the other side of it. I have friends who are policemen and detectives and the adrenaline that gets going in many situations/altercations especially with an individual who is high on something and is just super trumped up physically cannot be understood by the public. And I know there have been incidents that the police were in the wrong so I am not saying that. But the media seems to focus on one side of the story and that is irresponsible.

Imo that was extremely disrespectful to that officer and his family to show that video.

That was horrible and should not have been shown. Seeing it however confirmed a few things about the group responsible. They are organized, well trained and ruthless.
