Nice to come back after 2 losses and get in the W column.
Desmond is absolutely MVP material.

Good work for Sam. Sinker was sinking.

If we can just get out of Fielders contract this off season.I'll say this- I know Desmond is still likely here for this season only, but with each HR he hits (most of them clutch), he's at least making it a little more tough of a decision for JD.
Part of me wonders if hitting in the AL doesn't just suit him better (instead of just blaming it all on a fluke career year).

That's insane...clutch isn't real, but if it was he would be it.Desmond 11 HR's to tie or give the Rangers the lead in games this year, pretty salty

I think part of his success is also being with guys he really enjoys playing with. This may be the perfect fit for him. I would love to have him for 2-3 years but it is hard to go beyond that. I know if he is not here next year our overall OF production bases off of what Desmond has been doing so far will be a big drop off.See post 181 please.

I'm sure the Rangers will at the very least extend a qualifying offer. These days that's real money. I would hate to see Desmond end up on the Angels or Mariners.I think part of his success is also being with guys he really enjoys playing with. This may be the perfect fit for him. Right but for now we will just enjoy having the guy on our team.I love the thought of prospects coming up and immediately filling in and producing, but lets face it that doesn't always happen. We also may be a couple years away from knowing Brinson can come up and have success at the ML level. If you told me that we could offer Ian 3 years at fair value for both him and the team and he would take it tomorrow, Id say get it done. Guys don't always leave money on the table but occasionally if they enjoy a situation and are having success it can happen. Of course he wouldn't take a low ball offer but I can see JD possibly getting something done.
Now that means we probably have to find a way to shed some salary somewhere? Maybe Choo gets moved, who knows

I hope Chi Chi can do the job or the BP will be used early.1 pm game tomorrow
