I don't know what will come of him but his place on the team should only be as a cheerleader going forward. He will have an occasional hit or HR but he appears to be all but done as a productive player on any type of regular basis

He ought to do what's right and quit stealing Simpson and Davis' money.

They ought to change their name to LeBron, Ohio.

He sure has done a lot for the city, as far as giving them hopes of a championship. Now they got it

I am hoping in my heart of hearts that they will not let him bat .200 into the postseason. I think Banister pinch hitting Profar over Fielder today speaks volumes.

It seems he's worse in the postseason if that is possible, than he's been this year

More than anything the Browns or Indians will ever do. Though I wouldn't mind the Indians winning the Central. And us playing them in ALDS.

Good point and kudos to Banister for that move.

Yes that is a good point. Hope it bodes well. You have to think that ASB is where changes from a traditional standpoint are made. Just hate to have Profar sit

I know this is not about the Rangers but just need to throw this in during some down time. I am glad to see all the tweets and comments from other golfers about the ridiculous decision made by the idiots who govern the USGA. First of all there should not have been an issue on the ball moving on Dustin Johnson but secondly how can you have such an idiotic ruling as to tell him you will wait until after his round is complete to let him know if they will take a stroke off or not. They need to fire that whole bunch.

Texas was 13-13 on the road before this stretch began. 10 games later Texas is 21-15 on the road. That's gonna help the cause tremendously.
That was a ridiculous road trip when you consider the loss in Oakland was just like a throw away game.

I'd hate to play the Cubs in the World Series. If we lost, we would go from the team who lost a World Series at the last second to the team who removed the billy goat curse ( throw Steve Bartman in too)

So I would probably pitch Derek until his arm falls off tomorrow. I fully expect him to get lit up like a Christmas tree vs the O's, but when you expect things in baseball you set yourself up to be proven wrong.

Counterpoint: the Rangers benefit from the billy goat curse and are World Series Champions.

JD will be battling Theo for BP arms pretty soon, theirs might be worse than ours. It is looking like it might get exposed here again tonight

This is going to be the story of the mid-season trade cycle. The top team in both leagues needs to improve its bullpen, and both are headed by extremely savvy GMs.

The entire organization hit homers on Diekman and Dyson. They saw the potential there and didn't focus on results. Dyson featuring the sinker and becoming one of the best relievers in the league was not a mistake. Diekman getting control of his command issues has been nice too.

I am confident the staff is on the lookout for more guys like these, and won't get sucked into giving up a lot for flashy players like Chapman Miller or Betances etc.

Betances' numbers are STUPID good...his K rate is that of a video game. He's had some back luck so the ERA is higher, but damn his periphs are are sexy.

Is that really true? I know the story about our bullpen, but the Cubs have only given up 193 runs. The next highest team is the Mets at 233. You'd think teams would be scoring more runs on the Cubs if their bullpen was bad.

I wish Texas' pen had the numbers that the Cubs pen does...Texas would be 25 games over right now.
