Getting back on track any feelings on these two posts?

Well, first we still have to say yea or nay to a taxi squad to begin with.

But, to your question, the "soft 25" to allow for unbalanced trades, I don't care much for. During the season if a 2 fer 1 puts you at 21, you have to drop someone. I don't think adding 5 roster spots should change the game. If a 2 fer 1 gets you to 26, you've gotta drop someone. Part of the decision as to whether to agree to the trade or not, just like it is the rest of the year.

If we want to go to 30 between the draft and week one preseason, that's fine, but if there's a line, respect the line, wherever it ends up being, 20, 25, 30, whatever. No exceptions, no chances for confusion or problems later on

Yes it has to be voted on still. But one of the reasons I do these discussion thread is to figure out what we are voting on. I would not want to vote on something and then decide how we are going to do it.

I like your idea Barilko, but I think it might be going against the rule.

While making it easier to push the hard decision down the road, you don't want to make it to easy. With it set at 25 you still have to make decisions.

The WW might be a good idea. My thinking was the same as D1, open the WW after the draft. Closing them again to keep people from abusing the cut down period.


Other opinions on this are appreciated.

im not sure if im understood here
roster max is 25 im just saying during off season if you trade me 2 players and a pick for one pic
you would roster 23 and could not add until the WW is open as the season starts
and i would carry 27 until the cut day or until i make a trade

at all times during off season the rosters would still total the same amount of players in the league as long as no one adds or drops



if im understood i apologize for re emphasizing my point

foot note here im cool which ever way we go

but would hate to refuse an off season trade because my roster can not stalk the extra players accumulated in a trade

It is basically giving you a little more flexibility in the off season.

I.E. you have Kyle Rudolph and Eric Ebron, but don't know which one you want to keep for the season. It gives you a couple more months to decide or trade one of them.

No it is still capped at 25.

It is just adding 5 to the cap for the off season.

If you add a player in the season you have to cut one.

With this the first five you add, you do not have to cut one for a few months. Anything past the first five, you go back to add one cut one.

I totally get what your saying. And I don't have any issues at all with the logic, nor you re-emphasizing anything

I just disagree, to me, a cap is a cap, whether it's 20, 25, 30, or in season or off season.

my point is that could hamper some off season dealing and that is the fun part off the off season

Treff if you come after Benj and give me 3 players that i would love to sit on until the deadline to get to 20 hits
i would sit on the extra players as i may use my 2 extra players to go get a guy i want
this of course is all off season stuff

if i cant do that then i wouldnt except your 3 for 1 trade during the off season

i just think it could slow down the freedom of potential trades

During the season we have a roster limit that we cannot exceed. If our roster is illegal when scoring for the week begins, we forfeit. What safeguards will be used to prevent an owner from going over the limit during the offseason? There is no forfeit potential in June.

Treff stated the penalty for going beyond the cut date should be your first round draft choice next year. I agree

I have it blocked in Fantrax for an illegal transaction. That should make it where you have to do your cut before accepting the trade.

that was actually Tlance, and I do agree, seems fair
