It looks like it will be ready before the current lease expires. I am so glad they are staying in Arlington.

Agreed, and staying away from Dallas is a good thing especially for trying to maintain areas available for parking

Also, the retractable roof will obviously do wonders for attendance

I asked this several days ago and I forget who answered, but I believe they said next Tues. the 24th.

An MRI showed no structural damage, and Griffin will be able to resume throwing when the inflammation subsides. The earliest Griffin could return to the rotation would be on May 24 against the Angels.

That is the only town they need to be in. Retractable roof should help with free agents too.

Never cared much where they play, but a roof is a must in Texas. I don't get to make many games anyway, so I have no dogs in the fight for what city lands them, but I don't see the point in leaving Arlington.

I can't stand the argument of "baseball stadiums need to be in a downtown area."

No, they don't. They absolutely don't.

It's hell for parking, but a lively city center isn't a bad environment for a ballgame. But it's also not necessary either.

Hope they keep the roof open for night games. Went to Minutemaid park couple of years ago and on a nice 80 degree evening had the roof closed. Didn't make sense.

Yes ask how Camden Yards is working for Baltimore. 15 years ago it was a great area now a hole.

Kudos to Arlington. For me though drive is a hassle and limits me to Thurs-Sunday games due to work schedule. Would love mass transit which is available me to DT Dallas. Still roof is needed. Always secured seats 1B side due to heat and I am not bad with heat. They are going to revitalize area so you can walk to spit to socialize, grab a beer etc. good move for Arlingon. Preemptive strike. Dallas failed to step to plate. Shows lack of leadership IMO

Re Rangers. Yeah best to send Tolleson down to work on things. We could really use the results he had early last year. Despite SP QSs they have not pitched deep as a whole. This has strained pen. Hope Bush is the shot in arm. Sure could use Kela. AAA BP arms otherwise not impressive. Sure wonder where Choo slots in BO Hope Desmod stays in upper tier of lineup. Glad Gallo is back. May need his bat in September. Late night Ranger thoughts

Having a roof helps fans in so many ways. We all know the heat but before moving to the DFW area we had tickets way ahead of time against the Yankees. We drive 2 1/2 hours and saw 1 batter before a wicked thunderstorm came in and scared the daylights out of everyone. Game was canceled. With a roof nice to not worry about that for out of town travelers.

I am looking forward to seeing what Ortiz and Mendez can do in the Frisco rotation.
