I think Odor should take care of Tolleson.

I know it's nothing groundbreaking but I wish Mac was a lot more critical and questioned more. He's just so damn generic and says the same thing every single game.

Not to pile on here, but I just don't understand what Banister sees in Tolleson. He was good for half of a season last year. But there are tons of relievers in and out of baseball who have at one time or another been effective closers for half of a season.

I could understand sticking by him if he were a longtime proven closer just having a poor start. But he seems to be forgetting that Tolleson was absolutely awful down the stretch last season as well. Hell, by playoff time there was talk Dyson might have taken over the role. But he is just an absolute dumpster fire right now incapable of pitching 1 inning without giving up a run. I'm all for giving a closer a very long leash and letting him pitch his way back into form. But this is just ridiculous at this point. He has no business closing games at all.

But unfortunately this is what you get when you hire a good ol' boy players' manager like Wash or Banny. Neither one is very smart, like a lot of ball players out there, so consequently you're going to see a lot of mind-numbingly stupid decisions that smarter people like you or I wouldn't make.

I swear to god if Tolleson comes out to close I will throw a brick through my tv.
You and I will need new TVs. I threw my son's sneaker at the Tv when I saw him trotting out. Perhaps Banny will stop making Washington decisions and give the closer job to Dyson. Piss poor I'm am mighty passed.

Let's see...... What did I miss?

Rangers come out flat after last night.......... ✅
Oakland leading late again........ ✅
Rangers stage another improbable but I'm sure amazing come back to watch..... ✅
Matt Bush putting out the flames like we thought he would.............✅
Game gets to the ninth inning and everyone on here is excited anticipating a thrilling come from behind victory......✅
Tolley comes out of the bullpen, everyone on this board is probably saying " fuck not that guy" while sitting in front of their TV's...... ✅
Tolley gets a few outs but looks very shaky.......✅
Nobody Warming up in the bullpen to save a closer with an ERA over 7.00.........✅
Tolley blows it like we all thought he would.......✅

Youre fucking horrible at managing Rooster. Go fuck yourself.
I'm sick of JD hiring these " players" managers. We need someone with the stones to make the tough moves to protect this team from further detriment.

that's not very nice.....you all wanted to trade Elvis 5 weeks ago. Give it time, Tolleson is just going threw a rough spell.

Im not a very nice person. Already blown more saves than last year in a week, no interest in seeing any more of this. Id still move Elvis if they can and not eat all the $

If they aren't at the time of hire or trying to make their way up the chain I just think that with the exception of a very select few they're all good ol boy players managers with stubbornness and ego. Clearly he's partial to Tolley and obviously very partial to Wilhelmsen until JD had to take it into his own hands and just get rid of the guy.

I hope Banny improves and changes but I'm not expecting it.

This is one of two things Banister does wrong. It's hurting the team the most, but you're fucking mental.

I think Mlb should suspend Banister for being terrible.

Just because a relief pitcher starts an inning that doesn't mean they have to pitch an entire inning. When he doesn't have it get him out of there. Come on Banister. What are you trying to prove?

Maybe Banister wants the record for being the only manager in history to trot out a closer with an ERA higher than 10.00 after the first month of the season. If so, he's almost there. C'mon Tolley, you can do it!! You're up to 9.20 now... just take one more toilet-clogging shit all over your team and Banny will have the record!

He can't get the job done, he shouldn't be out there. If Banny puts him out there in the ninth he should be gone. And he can take Tolly with him. And if I could get out from Elvis's contract I would. Goes for Prince too.
