But the issue is risk. If you take him with a seventh round pick and the salary that goes with it, why not?

Because a person who makes the outlandish claim they will not sign because they are bitchy little babies is not somebody you want on your team. The people who had him as a first or second rounder lose all credibility when he goes undrafted and is moved to G.

The reason why not...media SportsHoopla and locker room cancer.

I didn't realize he said that. Still, a seventh round pick is worth it, if not simply to use as trade bait for another team. My view on this is driven by the fact that Reiter will bust.

I didn't either. Shark brought up that statement. I still would have drafted him because I don't mind risk but I won't fault a proven GM for not being a gambler.

Reiter being a bust is total speculation. My personal belief is a seventh rounder can never bust because the success rate is sooo low. Have you read much on Reiter? I really don't know much about him but what I read I like. I have read he put on 15 pounds of muscle this offseason. 6'3" and 310 pounds is good sized. He may surprise.

The big thing about Collins is...32 teams passed on him 7 times. He was undrafted for a reason. If he was that talented, somebody would have taken a shot, unless, they truly believed he was going to federal pound you in the ass prison.

dallas got a good player on a guy THEY passed over at least 7 times

this cat has possible ties to a murder which certainly puts him in the possible hardy category

Again... when you come out and say, well if IM not one of the first 100 or so guys drafted, I will refuse to sign.... we call that a bitch move. He went to the perfect place for him as far as Im concerned. I really hope he wasnt involved ( hate to see another young black guy brought down because he couldnt control his dick, then followed THAT up with even worse choices)

But on the chance that he is totally innocent, it still strikes me as a bit o' thabitch to say I will turn down the opportunity that millions of kids would sell their souls for because I felt slighted that I wasnt a top 100 pick.

I hope he is guilty as hell because Dallas is the perfect place for trash. I understand the sentiment though.

I would never hope some one is guilty of a crime such as this. But I also wouldnt want to bring him to our team on the off chance that he is guilty. Its one thing if a man is defending himself in a situation that he didnt cause (See Gallette). Its another thing if he possibly created the situation and wasnt man enough to deal with the situation in a rational manner.

I don't know I'd blame him for it. He very well may have just been screwed over by rumors he had nothing to do with. What's wrong with the guy saying screw that I'm talented I'll go where I wanna go?

Someone has to be guilty. I just hope it is a Dallas starter...if not Dallas, then NYG, PHi! And NE in that order.

You do understand he was losing millions because of the timing of the case, I'm sure if you were in his shoes you'd be a little pissed off over the amount of money you were losing.
A horrible crime happened, and the young man was brought into question. He has a strong alibi, I know it doesn't mean he isn't involved, but with evidence so far he's innocent. Plus DNA test show the baby wasn't his.

His agents threatened that he would sit out the season and enter the 2016 draft if any team selected him after the third round. The Boyz signed him to a 3 year deal totaling 1.6 mil. One of the few smart things they did last year.

This is what I had heard as well. Supposedly the Rams called his agent before their 7th rounder and the agent said not to bother, he won't ever sign a 7th round contract...

Much more likely a 1st rounder vs. a 4th as you suggest.

You say that but it is nothing you can come close to proving. Sadly, you actually believe it.

This last draft, you saw a guy get bumped down all of maybe ten slots because of a character issue. You saw a guy that was maybe the best player in the draft but may never play a down in the NFL fall all the way to the second. You saw another guy fall to the second and he may have five years of play if he is lucky.

So you don't think a team would take a chance on a guy that was first round talent, if he was first round talent, in the seventh? Please dude. That very thought is absurd. He was probably a fourth or fifth round prospect.

Again, I have said... forget about the why it happened. Yes he was losing millions because of a poor choice he made. Yes apparently it was a poor choice to be involved with this woman. And just because it turned out the kid wasnt his, does not mean he wasnt involved. I guarantee we all know some one at some point who was named the father of a child and it turned out it wasnt his kid.

My main issue is, he actually came out and said, if Im drafted after the top 100 or so picks, I wont sign. To me, thats an issue.

Side note.. .DNA said OJ had nothing to do with it as well.... Im just saying.

Probably on the advice of his agent. UDFA contracts are 3 years 7th rounders get 4 meaning he'd be able to sign his second contract a year earlier. That whole stand was strickly about money, not an issue, and one I know I'd do if I were in his shoes.

By the way there was OJ DNA at the crime scene, but the police and investigation teams completely screwed it up.

I am with you on this one. You can't keep playing this woulda, shoulda game with the draft. The big issue is not who you passed on but rather who the team drafts & are they able to retain & develop the majority of their picks. Lots of teams passed on potential HOFers like Brady, Wilson & Sherman - so what? If the Redskins or any team drafts wisely & picks guys that contribute for many years they will wind up being contenders.

Why even talk about this guy now? This is old news.

Look I get it, you are defensive of the kid because he decided he wanted to be a Cowboy. My perspective of him was set well before he became a Cowboy though. The moment he came out and said, if Im not drafted by the third round, I wont sign. I get where it was a money thing, but I also think it was a cry baby move to a degree.

Also you prove my point, who stood the most to gain from this woman and her childs death? At the time, he had no real way of knowing it wasnt his child. So he had every motive to be involved, and he was smarter than Rae Carruth if he was involved... for that I give him credit if he did have something to do with it.

Here's news some might appreciate: apparently, Austin Reiter has gained some weight and turned some heads these past few days. Of course, this is hardly game experience, but some have been noticing how much he's improved. Will it be enough to land him a spot this yeaw? We shall see.
