He's only caught 5 times since 2011. And not at all since 2014. He's hitting like himself this year and I wouldn't want to risk that for one inter league game in May.

To me, he's done catching.

Yes, the radio people today basically said they have heard via Ausmus that Victor catching is no longer an option, due to recent knee issues.

That said, they did question (1) McCann starting over Salty, when Salty has a .400+ career average vs. Scherzer and lefties are hitting .320 off Max this year, (2) not pinch-hitting Salty for McCann in the 7th, (3) pinch-hitting Salty for the pitcher spot in the 8th, knowing it took away your backup catcher, and (4) not using Castellanos to pinch-hit at all earlier in the game (for McCann or the pitcher spot).

All four of those were brought up last night in here, BTW.

Going to drop the Tigers for awhile, at least until they get rid of Ausmus or the team starts to win on a regular basis. I'll stick to my D'Backs' boards and steer clear of the witch hunting that will be going on concerning the Tigers. No offense to anyone - even Lions. It just isn't much fun when every game is now going to center around what Ausmus did or didn't do. (I see they shoved Upton to CF as fast as I said it.)

Only one of those are a question that mattered to me. As two others go away when 1 doesn't happen.
