The main reason the Tigers lost was Max Scherzer. Not disputing that. All I said was that Ausmus took away some better chances to tie or win the game.

There is no doubt, but they still had their chances. You have to atleast put yourself in the best position to win.

If Upton makes the out you PH McCann. 1st base is not open anyways, Ausmus could have PH Salty for McCann and then Castellanos for Gose in the 7th, but I digress.

Yes a .628 OPS lefty with .763 OPS vs rigthies vs a catcher that hits .900+OPS vs righties. You obviouisly don't look up splits of offensive players.

Sorry that I don't follow along with the crowd and scream "Fire the Manager" at the drop of a hat. I have always felt that was the easy way out. You give almost any manager good players and he becomes a good manager. Ausmus #1 problem - he does not have enough good players. (I know, a Tiger fan SHOULD think all Tiger players are good - or will be good)

I hope, for some of you, that firing the manager will make you feel better. And your yelling about it here will make it seem like you've been heard if or when it happens.

No just leave Gose in the 7th inning to fan with 2 men on. You could have shifted Upton there. Really doesn't matter because Gose isn't THAT awesome at CF.

You are just doing anything you can to defend his moves. They were not optimal whatsoever.

Edward Lorenz's Chaos Theory would negate your 7th inning plans. Mr. Ausmus, being a Dartmouth grad, may be away of the Chaos Theory and that may have played into his decisions.
