I get the thinking about Stubbs being brought in could correspond with DeShields being sent down. What I don't get is if that is the case then why not make both moves together. Why the delay with DeShields if that is indeed what they are going to do?

Love those boys.
I get the feeling that we will be setting some more records that have to do with a young age over the next few seasons.

I said when Odor first came up he would be a 20 HR guy based upon what he did at Myrtle Beach and then his short stint at Frisco. Here is something to think about with Odor and Mazara. Odor is the leader in HRs, tied for the lead in RBIs with Beltre, Maz and Odor are 1-2 in average, Maz is tied for 3rd in HRs with Moreland and has 30 less ABs than most of the starters. If we do not count Nicholas or Chirinos, Odor and Maz are 1-2 in SLG PCT and Maz and Odor and 1-2 in OPS. How is that for a bunch of young whipper snappers. And do you notice whose name is not 1 or 2 in any of these stats? Our cleanup hitter. But we all know the issue there.

Rangers' A.J. Griffin: Departs with shoulder stiffness
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Griffin departed Saturday's game in the third inning due to right shoulder stiffness, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

It's unclear exactly how the stiffness arose, but Griffin, who missed two full seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2014, was escorted from the mound by team trainers after allowing four hits and three earned runs over 2.2 innings. Anthony Ranaudo entered the game for Griffin, who should be considered day-to-day, with the team likely to exercise caution give his history.

Rangers' A.J. Griffin: Not tests scheduled for shoulder
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

A.J. Griffin , who exited Saturday's start due to right shoulder stiffness, said he doesn't believe the issue is too serious, and no tests have been scheduled yet, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports.

Not much has been revealed yet with regard to Griffin's shoulder issue, but given his extensive history of shoulder and elbow injuries, there is certainly cause for concern. Continue to monitor his status in the coming days for more news about what will be next for Griffin.

Just read an article about the concept of the Angels trading Mike Trout. For the Rangers, they suggested this package: Prince Fielder, Martin Perez, Joey Gallo, Lewis Brinson, Dillon Tate, Luiz Ortiz, and Michael Matuella

FWIW, they listed the likelihood of that happening at 0.9%

But I'm posting it because it intrigued me that they included Prince. And I wondered: would anyone here be willing to part with multiple prospect pieces if it meant shedding Prince? Not necessarily for Trout, but in general.

Considering it seems the club intends to keep Mazara in the lineup when Choo gets back I got to thinking what I hope the lineup looks like, and what I think it will look like.

Hope/Realistic:
2b Odor
LF Mazara
3b Beltre
RF Choo
CF Desmond
DH Fielder
1b Moreland/Rua
SS Andrus
C: Holaday/Wilson

What I think it will look like at least initially
2B Odor
RF Choo
3B Beltre
DH Fielder
CF Desmond
1b Moreland
LF Mazara (Fucking waste of his ability to hit him here but... Banister)
SS Andrus
C Holaday/Wilson

Like I said, I ain't watching anymore Ranger baseball till Banister pulls his head out of his ass about hitting fielder cleanup.

I do not think Maz moves. Why would you do that? Has nothing to do with the Fielder situation which is dumb.

I don't think he should. I wouldn't put it past Banister to cowtail to Choo and Fielders veteran status and move him though.
