So far, Denver appears to potentially have fixed the offensive line adding two solid tackles (Okung and Stephenson), getting Sambrailo back healthy, and adding a solid guard from the Draft (McGovern)
Right now I am guessing our oline will end up as Okung, Sambrailo, Paradis, McGovern, Stephenson
With the addition of Booker and us retaining both Anderson and Hillman, Denver's running back core is as deep as it has been since I can even remember.
So with our defense, additions and development to the offensive line, the fortifying of our running back depth chart, can this team compete even with a subpar QB? Many will say no... but they didn't see what we were doing last year. Honestly, with another year fully implementing Kubiak's offense with a more mobile QB, our offense SHOULD be even better, even with Sanchez under center.
I honestly believe Sanchez can lead us to the playoffs this year. He is saying and doing all the right things, leading the team, and diving into what it means to be a QB (he is taking the anti-manziel route). This year we shouldn't be forcing Lynch to start, because it very well could be detrimental to his development. Instead, Denver should focus on running the ball, limiting turnovers, and establishing a smash-mouth offense ala Carolina and Seattle. With this, we can establish a mean and 'punch you in the mouth' mentality. We can chew and control the clock, limit turnovers, and we can put our defense in MUCH better situations than we put them in continuously last year. Do this, and even @Draft Crazy could QB the Broncos, and we would still be AFC contenders and AFC West favorites.
As important as the QB position is, Elway proved us last year he is capable of building a roster that's success is QB-quality independent. Gone are the star wars number days with 350+ yards and 4+ touchdowns, gone are the days of 50+ pass attempts. Now are the days of running the ball 30+ times, owning the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and leaving opponents on BOTH sides of the ball licking their wounds after being BEATEN physically for 60 minutes every Sunday. Now begins the Days of the Orange Rush and the Orange Crush.
