If memory serves, Choo was damn near equally poor in RF as LF until he got his head turned around.

So maybe he'd be open to going back to LF. Just wondering is all.

I think Maz going back to AAA would be one of the stupidest things this organization has done. His arm, fielding, being a tough out at the plate to go along with very impressive stats. Yeah, why don't we kick ourselves in the butt so we can make sure DDJ or Rua plays while Maz is raking it at AAA. And I love Rua and most of the time DDJ even though he may be one of the dumbest players around.

Eventually the Rangers FO will have to deal with one of the two toxic contracts they have. Having minor league options ready now is a good thing. They will need to dump Fielder's contract or Choo's. I hear the Atlanta Braves are buying such contracts.

Moving Fielder is going to be highly improbable, unless they eat a huge chunk of that contract and theres a team that will take a chance, their DH may only hit 15 HR's.

Don't know if you have seen this:

MLB Rumor Central: Braves looking to deal for draft picks?

Braves 'desperate' to trade for draft picks, per report

If the Rangers have the picks the Braves FO is looking for, why not give it the college try to dump Choo's or Fielder's contract. They can then have a stupid front office like the Yankees pick them up at trade deadline to offset the costs. I know a bit outlandish but I'm sure JD is not ignoring the possibilities.

Unless something has changed recently I am pretty certain you cannot trade draft picks.

The Competitive Balance Round picks are the only Draft selections permitted to be traded, subject to some restrictions. Each lottery pick can be traded only once and cash can't be involved in the transaction. The choices can be dealt only during the regular season, up until 5 p.m. ET on the first day of the Draft.

Competitive Balance Lottery gives Draft picks

Chances are the Rangers don't have any this year.

Ultimately you play who you think will bring about the best overall OF defense and I think it's Maz in LF and Choo in RF, don't know if the Rangers feel the same way but in IMO I suspect they do

Both can be sent down, but we need a backup CF and Rua provides a RH hitting alternative to Moreland and Prince.
I understand that part but not at the expense of Maz. I mean Alberto can play 1st for what that is worth. Hard to expect much out of him offensively because of how little time he gets into a game.

Rua can't hardly get into a game now let alone when Choo comes back.

So I'm guessing its going to be Rua going down and Desmond sliding over to CF, DDJ becomes the 4OF, PRer

As much as I like Rua, I'd rather see him go down and get some regular playing time/ab.

That doesn't solve your problem of needing a CF and a RH bat with some power.
