Season starts Tuesday. ..predictions for 2016 good, bad or indifferent. ...
Okay.

Should see a lot of runs scored, for us and them. Not a big fan of our rotation and a bit leary of the newcomers in the bullpen returning to career norms. Especially Lowe.

If there are injuries anywhere near what we saw last year, I don't think Ausmus makes it to August.

I had mine picked a little while ago. 84-78. Second place behind KC....but it will be close. The spread between the top four in AL Central could be very small. Now watch the White Sox punch out a 98 win season!!! :)

I'll say 83-79 and third place in the division behind KC and Cleveland.

Hitting = ABOVE AVERAGE

Starting Pitching = AVERAGE (above average if Anibal is back to 2014 & earlier levels and gets 30 starts)

Relief Pitching = BELOW AVERAGE (but not as bad as last year)

Defense = ABOVE AVERAGE (all positions average or above-average except at 3B)

I'm gonna give 'em 86 wins. Not sure where that places them in the AL Central.

Do we include Vice's prediction? He picked Cleveland to win the division. Except he then spent weeks ripping the team apart. So, I am guessing that his prediction was that the Tribe would take the AL Central with a 70-92 record and Detroit would finish second with fewer wins. (I figure with the records of the AL Central teams...Vice must have been figuring that there would be 4-5 AL teams winning over 100 games in 2016.)
So - Detroit second with a 68-94 record???? (Zimmermann loses 18 games, Sanchez starts 3 games, VMart needs groin replaced in June, K-Rod punches relative - is traded for peanuts in July, and Ausmus is a scout for the Padres by August.)

Let's just say every team in the AL Central has holes -- even the W.S. Champion Royals. Their rotation is good, not great, and K.C. will miss Greg Holland. (Soria is not even close to Holland.) That said, the Royals are still the team to beat.

It'll be interesting to see how things shake out during the season. KC has shown they aren't afraid to spend prospects for impact players the last few years. I imagine Avila will do the same, but we don't really know. Cleveland seems leary of adding payroll, but it could de different if they're sniffing the postseason. And the White Sox have 13mil in wiggle room that they weren't planning on having.
