Elway really stressed that he called him on the phone and made it a point that he was happy to have him back... I am sure CJ is happy to remain a Bronco but I am sure he was a bit hurt.

Now both parties can move on and get back to business.

Yeah not going to say Elway has been perfect this off season. Honestly I feel like he has been about 2 weeks behind with us making and winning the Super Bowl. He talked about how he and the FO people feel a bit behind. Just hoping that doesn't carry over to the draft.

Now if we were to sign Okung I think a lot would be forgiven in Denver. I trust Okung to stay a lot healthier than Clady at this point and I just think he has a lot more left in the tank. Really hoping we see that deal done later today. I like Clady but him being out 2 of the past 3 years plus now the delay on the pay cut just makes me ready to move on.

Good read today over at BSN on the CJ Anderson situation. They said the public has it all wrong and that this played out just as the Broncos had hoped.

They realized with trying to sign both Osweiler and Malik that it was going to take all they had cap wise to get it done. So offering CJ the lowest tender helped them out cap wise but also gave them the ability say a team tried to sign him away to know how much cap space they actually would have with both Osweiler and Malik being either signed with us or off to another team.

It also helped to set his value AFTER all the big name RB's were signed by other teams. So he was going to be in the 2nd level of FA where the big money contracts are not being handed out.

This also gave them time to see if Ware and Clady would take the pay cut that Ware finally did.

so there were a lot of moving parts to this but the Broncos now have CJ locked up for 4 years with a cap hit less than what it would have cost on the 2nd round tender.

CJ :

“People act like we lost our best defensive player. We lost two guys and we’re gonna get Von [Miller’s] deal done, Anderson said. “We got DeMarcus (Ware) still there, we still got in the back end Darian Stewart and T.J. Ward, (Bradley) Roby, (Aqib) Talib, Chris (Harris Jr.), Brandon Marshall.

“I mean we’re still stout, so we’ll definitely have that target on our back and if you didn’t wanna be a part of that target on our back that says something about your character.”

and BOOM goes the dynamite. Mike drop.

That's awesome. I love that C.J. just called out anyone that moved on or is considering doing so. Rally 'round the Orange.

That was a great video to watch. As I have said with Anderson I love what he brings to the table I just wish we could see it for the entire year. He is being paid as one of the leaders of the offense (2nd longest player in our offense that is a starter only behind DT) and needs to show how much this means to him in training camp. I'm hoping he isn't just out bowling all the time instead of training.
