It depends upon the chip. That aside, Wilson is a proven major league SS who contributes about 1.5 WAR (about $6MM worth of value). Crawford has proven nothing at the big league level and isn't ready to step up. Wilson would be a rental and I can't imagine he'd cost more than a Culberson or a Willoghby. He's just not going to command more than that.

I like both Culby AND Willoughby, so I would not be thrilled in either of them included in a Wilson deal. I would only go about Tanner or Sosa for him.

I was assuming that we were talking about Surkamp for Wilson, which I would be TOTALLY against.

Guess I should've just waited for your response, so I would only have to type: "+1." Hardy and Lopez could definitely still be possibilities, too, but I think most of us can agree that the price for Reyes will be too high. Wilson would be a nice compromise. Plus, it seems when Freddie is smiling, everyone is smiling. GP? Dancing Freddie gif, please?

This offseason, the guy I wanted was Hardy. But I can understand that Sabean is reluctant to deal with the Twins given the AJ fiasco, so to the Orioles he went. He's not the 07/08 Brewer but he's still a 2.5 WAR guy, which would be a HUGE upgrade at SS over Miggy.

I dunno. I might give up Willoghby. I'd certainly be willing to part with Sosa or Tanner. Surkamp? Maybe.....

Agreed on Willoughby, the more I thought about it after I posted.

We do have to give something to get something, and although I am not a huge Wilson fan, there are definitely positives to acquiring him, and giving up a 21 yo A- player would be worth ANY improvement to the MLB team...

No way on Surkamp, though. Wilson-types are a dime-a-dozen.

Ummm... Freddie's wife is hotter, and I don't see RoRo laughing in the background anywhere. :)

No, but we do get to see what looks like Andres Torres watching Andres Torres dance...which is weird....

Man, one place that'll piss you off if you want to see varying opinions...read both the ESPN board and the mlbtraderumor comments on trading for Reyes. I've seen everything from Derosa and Burriss, to Posey or Belt and Madbum...there's a lot of stupid assholes out there.
