So here the Broncos acquire Sanchez for a 7th rounder next year (may go up) and he's garbage while these new shinny college QBs have unlimited potential. For next year - I'll take Sanchez over anyone in this draft.

I don't know. I think starting Sanchez or a rookie is a pretty equal proposition. I think either situation would hinder an offense more than help it. With a rookie however, there's room for improvement. Sanchez's potential is pretty much maxed out. Not a lot of room for growth.

So it's up to the coaches, send a rook out there to take their lumps. Or stick with a known, very middle of the rode commodity in Sanchez. As long as the D holds up and whoever the QB is can avoid the big mistakes, we should be fine. No buttfumbles.

Also I would recommend to everybody if you have the time to go watch the presser of Sanchez being introduced as the newest Bronco. I thought he did a great job of showing his excitement for being here but also understanding that he was brought in here to compete for the starting job. He said one of the first things Elway told him was to understand they are bringing in more guys to compete so be ready for the competition. So yes do expect more moves and just have to see who emerges at the top.

I was very impressed with Sanchez's attitude. He said he does not have a girlfriend because he's so focused on football. You can see that's he's gonna work EXTREMELY hard to win the starting job. There's no doubt that he's been a below average QB in his career, as his career 74.3 passer rating indicates. But he's won some big games and had moments where he showed good potential. He's coming in with a great attitude so I'm willing to give him a chance. I think Elway should go for a QB high in the draft and see how long Sanchez can hold him off.

An untrue narrative, because Sanchez's career QB rating is 20 points higher in the playoffs than the regular season. https://twitter.com/3RayJ3/status/709447516060651521…

@MaseDenver It always comes down to clutch time, Sanchez isnt, but our @Broncos defense is. I hope that is enough.

When was the last time Sanchez played in the playoffs again? Guys been a backup for noncontenders for a couple years now, and I'm supposed to get excited because his playoff numbers are better than his regular season numbers? Reg season numbers that got him benched in the first place?

Well look at what you want to the way you want . I like positive make
s life kind of fun . See I look at it like this ... We have a Coach that brought the best years out of every QB he has ever had the pleasure working with so I you are not happy with a Back up that has the best QB rating ever in the play
playoffs sorry I like that .. you act like the guy has nothing to offer as a back up .

And please save me time on Peyton ..

Well I will say if he can get the best out of Mark Sanchez then we are actually sitting very pretty at QB. He played in 9 games in 2014 and had a QB rating of 88.4. While not the best ever any improvement on that puts him as an average QB in this league which would be a huge improvement over last year. So we could do worse.

That's how I look at it too CD. He can make all the throws - he is smart and he has won playoff games against the best QBs in the league - and if you look at the highlights - he truly bootlegs like a pro - and really squares up on the run to deliver a very pretty ball.

He has the tools. just have to see if the mental part of the game can get going. He has shown he can win games with a strong defense and run game. WE have the strong defense just have to see if we can get the run game going at a more consistent pace. Just have to see how things pan out though over these next few weeks. Plenty of time to add to this team.

That's odd. I pulled it off of CBS Sports. Anyone should be able to read it.

Anyway, it talked mostly about the cannabidiol that Jake has been taking. And it mentioned how Jake felt so good physically that he briefly considered playing for Denver again at 41.

To think that any of the qbs in this draft would beat out Sanchez if that's how Denver ends up heading into season is comical. They would have hard time beating Simiean. Not saying Sanchez is top of my list to guide the offense but...come on.....a rookie in this class? Hell, no.:)

I don't agree with this at all. I doubt when the Seahawks drafted Russell Wilson after paying Flynn huge money to come and be the starter that they figured he would start and do well. Yet look what he was able to do. Plenty of rookies over the last 5 years have come in and started and done ok with some even doing really well. So I don't think it would be all that crazy to think one of these guys could start. I see plenty of potential for some of these guys to start. Cook is probably the one guy that we can draft that could start day 1 and find success. He has an NFL ready arm, ran a more pro style offense, and has the years of experience as the starter to hit the ground running. He also was allowed to audible at the LOS which isn't something most of these guys can do. Lynch would be a guy you would probably have to limit but with our defense and hopefully better looking run game I don't think you are asking him to go out and put up 30 points a game.

AJ McCarron is worth a first round pick if you expect Denver to draft a QB with #31. He should have won a playoff game last year , almost beat Denver in Denver late , his salary is way lower than any 1st round pick this year and he is young to be the QBOTF.

A pick maybe, but first round? That's some pretty lofty expectations you're putting on Andy Dalton's backup there.

Obviously - you agree to some extent. More guys are starting as rookie QBs for two reasons:

1) Like Oz - their contract is likely to end before you can get them some experience on the field - so bite the bullet.
2) They are usually drafted by teams coming off an awful record - who want to give the fans some hope.

The point that no rookie QB can come onto the Broncos this year and perform like Sanchez or Siemian is true.
