I'm one of the people that thinks every team should have a dome and turf. It just makes sense.

I personally think football should be played outside in natural environments. I don't think Peyton has ever won a game below freezing weather. Guy like Stafford has 3 seasons over 4600 yards, while Rodgers who is probably the best right now only has 1 season of 4600 yards. Brees was throwing in the mid 3k range in SD and then goes up to mid 4000's first year in NO and every year since/ I loved watching an 88 yr old Bud Grant go out for the Minny/Seattle coin toss -6 below with wind chills -20 in a short sleeve shirt. That is the 1 thing that stands out for me the most this year. The old guys were real men

He plays at least 9 games in a dome (1 in Atlanta) and their other two guaranteed road games are in Carolina and Tampa (oh the horror).

I agree and it's one of the many reasons I don't put too much stock into stats.

Going back this decade for SB's the 2 most remarkable playoffs were this year's Denver D. Stripping the ball away from Pitt when looked like Pitt was gonna go up 4 or 8 points late in game, 23 jits on Brady and Miller's int along with Harris JR making huge stops on 3rd down with 1 healthy arm, to the 2 fumbles on Cam that bothe resulted in TD's, And also the run Flacco had going into Denver, with Balt spotting them 14 points on 2 kick returns for TD's and winning and going into Gillette and out dueling Brady. He threw like 11 TD's and 0 picks. Seattle's D was huge 2 years ago but they also had a good offense with Wilson playing a great game. So Denver's D Miller,Ware,Roby,Harris,JR,Wolfe,Ward all played lights out and Flacco going off

Graham, Starr, Brady & Montana would be my top 4... probably in that order.

Reasoning below:

Graham 10 consecutive title games winning 7 (4 in the AAFC)
Starr - 9-1 in postseason - 5 Titles, called his own plays
Brady - 4 SB wins in 6 appearances, 10AFCCG in 15years, 2 one-and-dones
Montana -4 SB wins in 4 appearances, 4-1 in Conference Championships - 3 one-and-dones (4 if you count the AFCCG with KC in 94 - as he was injured in the first playoff game)

Even if he isn't the GOAT, why isn't Brees on this list but Marino is?

I respect the Cowboys' dynasty of the 90's, but Aikman didn't have to do much. He's rarely ever brought up in the discussions for good reason.
Folks are just envious.

There's zero hatred within my post. I posted already that I respect them. It's just my opinion.
Peyton Manning had a terrible performance against Carolina yet folks are praising him. He is 2-2 in Super Bowls while Aikman is 3-0.

yep, nothing like The Drive of the Drive Part Deux...

I'm thinking he either holds or held the record for the most 4th quarter comebacks for a QB.

Elway willed those early teams to the SB pretty much himself only to meet much better over all teams and got beat.

He finally gets T Davis and the cast was complete and he doesn't have to do it by himself.

And yes, I can blame Dan Reeves and anybody who knows anything about Denver back in that day would agree, sorry...

Exactly. Reeves certainly held Elway back. 2nd and long draw plays.... 3rd and 10 shuttle passes were Reeve's favorite plays. So predictable. Seemed like Elway was in 3rd and long for most of his early career...That style of Offense didn't help Elway's stats, but Elway's career was certainly not based on lofty completion %. His legend was built on making huge plays in big moments.

As a fan, you always felt you had a chance to win with Elway in a close game at the end. Obviously those early SB losses were brutal. (I had to kick people out of my house party at halftime of the Redskin debacle...)

Elway took a ton of average teams on his back through the playoffs. The NFC was far stronger than the AFC in those days and winning the AFC was obviously a ticket for slaughter in the SB. <cries>

Shannahan, T Davis, a great OL and a decent D helped Elway cap off his career with 2 Super Bowls when he no longer had to try to do it all alone. Those teams had great balance.

Those last 2 Super Bowls certainly helped his legacy. Walking off a Super Bowl MVP and a back to back champion is a pretty damn good way to go out.

Yep, the only reason Denver went to those early Super Bowls, because of Elway. You but Elway on those Browns teams of the mid to late 80s, he would of won a ring.

I think those Brown's teams were probably better overall than Denver, but Elway (and Byner) kept breaking their hearts in the playoffs.

Elway was the real deal and one of the best imo!!/ It's nice to see a guy stay in one organization , not only as a QB but now as a fantastic GM, a living legend in Denver.

Which is unfair for Manning since Montana and Brady both got to play in better situations. That's what I'm getting at. Both Manning and Marino played in unfair circumstances. So it isn't right to judge them based on having less playoff success.
Was it unfair that Manning had two future HOF WRs and a center for the majority of his career? Was it unfair the majority of his games were played in doors? Was it his fault he was the #1 pick and went to a crappy team? Maybe Daddy should've given Peyton the same advice he gave Eli?
Manning was a great QB but if everbody wants to keep adding these what ifs and unfairs I figured these should be added. I'm sure there are more and I'm sure posters can come up with just as many if not more for ALL the other QBs.

This has already been talked about during the thread, and I've already gone on record saying that this is a pointless debate. So.
