Eugene was the starting safety on a SB team .... and while I consider myself a pretty good Bronco fan, when I first saw the title of this thread, my first thought was "Oh, a Panther player was arrested ?"

The odd thing here is who on Earth would be in a car with a hooker and their own brother ?!?!?!?

Pimpin aint easy!!!

Yeah Eugene Robinson was actually a starting S of two SB teams. If you recall we played against him on the Packers and a year later on the Falcons in the SB and beat him both times.

He is famous for saying on the sidelines to his teammates "This team isn't better then us, they aren't even that good"

Eugene Robinson made himself look silly in two super bowls vs us . ;)

Remember when he was on Seattle? He always played well against us even when Seattle sucked back then.

P.S. The title of this thread was not to compare them as football players.

Just made me think of when Eugene Robinson did that.

Ppl are idiots. A PS scrub gets the opportunity of a lifetime and screws it up big time.
Stay with the team and do the team activities.

The dude is a football player playing in the Super Bowl and he gets stung at a local Motel 6. OMG, I have no sympathy what so ever.

On a similar note was just reading an interesting article on John Fox and what he allowed of the players when we last went to the Super Bowl. I guess the players were completely out of control. At least one player the second the plane landed in New York went straight to the strip club. Others were so drunk that the team couldn't even find them before practices. I guess some of the reporters talked among themselves that they could smell the alcohol coming off some of the players.

From what I understand Kubiak thankfully put Ware and Manning in charge of each side of the ball and making sure players were doing the right thing. Can't really keep track of practice squad guys though as they are most likely a little more free to do what they want.

Also in the article was our loss to the Colts and how Fox's wife had actually already started selling their furniture the week before the Colts game. They also wrote about how Fox had already talked to the Bears (which is supposed to be illegal) and had the job lined up which is why he got hired so quickly after being let go by the Broncos.

Probably one of the reasons that it makes sense for a lot of guys to play away from the hometown boys and its temptations. Murphy was from there.

Eugene actually still got to play in the game though, and he was formally charged and arrested. He ate alot of Rod Smith dust in that Super Bowl.

Might be a good thing for the overall team to understand this a business trip now through Sunday.

That is exactly what I would have the leaders of the team go and tell the guys. Tell them have fun but also understand we have a job we need to finish. None of this go out and party all night then come into practice hung over. From what I understand this team though has a much different feel to it than the 2013 team. Talib was talking about how this team from day 1 has worked to spend as much time together as possible. I guess they once a week would have get together's at somebody's house where at least 30-40 players of the 53 would make it each week. Hopefully that is what they spend this week doing is in the off time just hang out.

He really did suck in that game and Madden made a point of that as well that the Broncos were picking on Robinson.

Wasn't the infamous "sand lot" play that Shanahan and Co put together on the fly a big TD play that picked on Robinson?

Crowd noise my a**. Fox just didn't know how to properly prepare a team for the Super Bowl. That's the one thing I hated about Reeves. He sucked at Super Bowl prep too.

Haha actually they had him on the radio yesterday and asked him about preparing for the Super Bowl and he said "I'm probably not the guy to be asking about how to best prepare for a Super Bowl. I don't exactly have the best record in that situation." At least he can laugh about some of that.

As for Fox yeah probably my biggest pet peeve with him is it just seemed like the team was not prepared in some of our biggest games. It seemed like we could dominate the weak teams in the NFL but when it came to actually going against the quality teams he definitely did not have the best record. This year seems almost opposite where our team rises in the biggest games of the year. We actually look like a well coached team that adds some wrinkles each week that are specific to the opponent. I can't wait to see what they got for the Panthers on Sunday! I do know the team has practiced a lot this past week with crowd noise so I don't think we will look quite as unprepared if that is the case. I still think it will be a pro Bronco crowd. People love to cheer for an underdog and especially with this possibly being Manning's last game I think the crowd will want to cheer for him.

I actually really like boyett as a player. I thought he stood a chance to really develop into a decent player.

Kind of funny that Robinson gave a talk to Panther players about staying out of trouble the week leading up to the SB.

Robinson warns Panthers with tale of SB pitfalls

If only Murphy had sat in on Robinson's talk.

Hopefully, some of Eugene Robinson's Super Bowl Loser mojo will rub off onto the Panthers. I wonder if he is still bitter about the losses and is trying to help the Panthers for that reason.

Edit: OK, just read that he is an analyst for the team. My bad.
