$2mil for Don Kelly? Wow. The guy had one AB last year. You would give him a $750,000 raise over what Miami paid him for that AB? You're a nice guy. Although I do wonder why no one has even offered Dazzling Don a minor league contract for this season? Oh yeah....Tommy John surgery! So - $2mil for a guy who might not be ready to play until June. (Mr. Avila - your GM job is safe on this front) LOL

Marte looked like a decent depth piece to have around with legit power... not sure who Kody Eaves is.. but he seems to have some promise.

How do you come to that conclusion?

because I looked at his stats idiot.

And just WHAT do you see that tells you Mr. Eaves has ''promise'' that others may not have? Or is this promise just a ''homer'' remark....something brought up by others?

He is a 22 yr old 2nd baseman that has hit double digit HR in both of his last 2 years in the minors... with 20+ steals in each of the last 3 years... I would say he has promise...

hhhmmmm.....Batting .248 in A ball and BA dropping each year. Stealing 20 bases off A ball catchers. 16th round pick. 150 Ks.

If he stays at 2b...he may be blocked by Curt Powell, who played well for the Lakeland team last year. Angels' handbook says Eaves profiles as a potential Hernan Perez/Landscape Maintenance type of player.

LOL.. I don't think you understand the phrase promise. In no way did I say the guy was a top prospect. He obviously has great base running skills and HR power for a 2nd base prospect.

The Tigers needed to open a 40 man spot and got a player that was comparable talent level to Marte, 2 years younger.. that they didn't need to use a roster spot on.. the fact you even question this is pretty funny.

Take a gander at Dixon Machado's numbers in high A ball when he was 21... 21 is young for high A ball FYI.

Oh no sir, I was not questioning the roster move. THAT I understood....I was responding to the ''homer'' remark of promise. I would hope that 90% of minor league players have promise. I would sure hate to think that Avila asked for some player with no skills and no hope in return for Marte. In short, your original comment was just a throw away 'homer' type remark, that I challenged, and you felt the need to defend....just like you do every statement you make here. AND, as normal, your defense came with the usual insults, implying that anyone disagreeing with you is stupid, idiotic, or beneath you. Ya know...you are eventually going to need a new script.

How do you come to that conclusion?

because he is a Tiger now, tried to clue him in on an easy tip, K to w ratios but he won't understand it for a few years I guess.

Don Kelly he won't be

who gives a shit... the tigers got him for a fringe MLBer.. if he figures it out.. awesome. if he doesn't... who cares. the way the royals farm system is going the kid would probably be a top 10 prospect in their farm soon.

can we look at raul mondesi jr's stats too while we are at it and compare? lol

kc's supposed top prospect - Raul Mondesi

A+ ball in 2014 - .211 ba / .256 obp / 122 k / 24 bb / .610 ops / 8 hr / 17 SB
AA in 2015 - .243 ba / .279 obp / 88 k / 17 bb / .651 ops / 6 hr / 19 SB

Scrub the tigers got in a trade for Jefry Marte - Kory Eaves

A ball in 2014 - .268 ba / .308 obp / 142 k / 29 bb / .724 ops / 10 hr / 25 sb
A+ ball in 2015 - .248 ba / .308 obp / 150 k /45 bb / .694 ops / 11 hr / 21 sb

LOL... this kid is not even a ranked prospect... and his numbers make KC's top prospect look like shit.
