I feel we should take a QB in this draft. I am not totally sold on KC and would like a insurance policy if I am correct on KC. I think we are in good position to take a D-Lineman or secondary help with 21st pick then after that I hope Scotty takes a QB in either round 2-7.

Anyone know how many picks we have for this draft. I believe we should have 1 pick in each round. We did have trades with Bucs and Saints but still think we have a pick in each round. Correct?

Lastly what are the Redskins top draft needs? ESPN says Top need: Center
Other needs: Wide receiver, cornerback, defensive line, offensive tackle

My draft
1st - CB
2nd - DL
3rd - QB
4th - C
5th - DL
6th - WR
7th - OL

However if Scot Mccloughan wants to take 3 TE's in a row, a kicker in 4th, LS in 5th, then remaining picks on water boys I trust his judgement that much. :suds:

I'm sure we will. I'd like to see them draft Hogan from Stanford in the mid rounds. Local kid, big but can move. Strong arm.

Wonder where PSU's QB Hack will fall to. Meaning which round. Once a top 5 and now maybe 2nd-3rd round.

Ritz, don't you think BOB will take a look at Hack sometime after the 1st round? It is starting to look a lot like what went wrong with Hack his last two years had to do with Franklin and Co.

That sounds about right. I really hope SM waits until atleast the 4th before taking a qb.

I doubt they take a QB in the first five rounds.

1st how are you doing Gkekoa? Been awhile. Want to do some mock drafts with Nos? :dhd:

2nd I rather not take a QB after the 5th. I don't know the stats but I bet the % is low of getting a good starter or even a good backup in round 6-7 unless its Brady. Round 3-4 is where I like to see us get a QB. Heck lets pull a Shanahan and take 2 QB's :D (joking) however we questioned the decision then but it turned out brilliantly today.

I am good and nope. He has no idea WTH he is talking about.

Actually, off the top of my head...Brady 6th, Romo undrafted...the only ones I can think of in round 3-4 are KC and Wilson. There are too many good players at other positions to waste that kind of capital on a guy you hope can be a backup when you have your QB.

A) I don't feel we have our QB.
B) We have shown what a good backup can do for a team. Our backup QB (KC) just lead us to the playoffs.
C) Its not a wasted pick if he can help win us games.
D) I said the same thing as you when we picked Cousins. I thought it was a wasted pick because we had other needs. Well that "wasted" pick turned out to be a good pick when RG3 got hurt.

A) Well we are about to treat him as one.
B) but we didn't have our QB going into the draft.
C) it is absolutely a wasted pick...who is the last backup to win a SB?
D) I didn't think it was a wasted pick when we picked KC. We didn't have a QB at that point.

We do have our franchise QB, at least for the immediate future. Yes, there's a chance he can flop. Whether or not he will, we may still draft a QB. Scotty was a disciple of Ron Wolf, who liked to draft a QB every year to develop and, ultimately, trade away for more draft picks. However, he didn't do that this year, probably because we'd have a huge logjam at QB. If he did so this year, I wonder how that might be perceived by Cousins. If a QB is drafted, Cousins contract situation will almost certainly be resolved and presumably any such plan to draft a QB will be broached by Scotty up front with Cousins' camp.

I know we need a center, but I've got a couple of questions. How is Austin Reiter doing? Does he even have the remotest shot of landing a starting spot? Also, Shark mentioned Stefen Wisniewski, who's a center with the Jags and who'll be a FA in 2016, as a potential replacement for Lichtensteiger. Wonder if he'll be worth signing and, if so, whether that will clear up one of our draft needs.

Not sure why don't think this guy is our QB. What (backup) QB ever set franchise records in the way that Cousins did? He also set some league historical marks as well. And he did this without a running game and really iffy defense. Could he ultimately flop? Sure. But right now, he's far from a backup QB like Scott Mitchell and Matt Flynn were.

Hey I hope you are right. However I am iffy paying him huge money as our franchise QB when he never beat a team over .500 this year. His stats might look good but look who it's against. Now if he can do it again next season then I'll agree that we have found ourselves our franchise QB. We have thought we have found our franchise QB several several several times now to only be disappointed so my glass is half empty attitude questions KC right now. Once again I hope I'm wrong and you are correct because that means we do have a great QB and can spend a pick on another position. However no matter what we do need a reliable backup just in case.

I would love to get Winiewski since I'm a Penn State fan. Not sure how he keeps getting away from teams. I believe he was a FA last year from Oakland and we didn't get him then. Hope we can finally land him now.

A) yes we are going to treat KC as a franchise QB and probably pay him huge money like a top 5 QB in the league but all for a guy who didn't beat a team with a winning record. That scares me.

Kirk has more to prove and more to improve upon; beating winning teams is just one of those things. While he didn't beat any teams over .500 down his torrid stretch, one thing people fail to see is how he beat those other teams. He dominated and destroyed them on his way to breaking several franchise and certain league records. That's why I think he's different, at least for now.

I don't know much about Wiz. Maybe you can fill us in. Wonder why the Raiders let him go? And I also wonder why Jax didn't sign him to a multi-year deal?

I think this statement that KC didn't beat a team with a winning record is overblown. First, we didn't play the many teams with winning records and those that we did were some of the best teams in the league. Second, it takes an entire team to win. Finally, the reason why we lost to those teams was rarely KCs performance. He played ok in most of those games.

You can question if KC is the man all you want. I still have questions. But he has done enough to warrant finding out. If you are wasting a second or third rounder on a QB, you are not doing your best to find out that answer.

We played two playoff teams all season and you are upset that we didn't beat the best in the NFC or the best in the AFC? If I remember correctly, one of those games included no fewer than 8 drops by WRs.
