Honestly, I don't see anyone trading for RG3 and i see no way he agrees to renegotiate his deal to facilitate a trade as it is in his best interest to hit the FA market so he can pick his next team. The only way I see a trade happening is if we find a suitor and agree to eat a portion of his salary for next year. Even that is very remote. No way does it make sense to eat $4-6M just to get a 4 th round pick next year. So he will most likely be cut. But there is no rush to do so. It only helps Robert and our competitors and not the team by cutting him early.

I don't put stock in those rumors, but they could require that RG3 be gone before they sign a deal. But I even doubt that.

You're probably right on that. I feel bad for Robert. I used to be a huge fan, but his time has come and gone. I wish him the best -- unless he's playing us or against our interests.

Time for Kirk to re-up. If we have to franchise him, that would be a pretty bad sign.

The only way you can make a trade is to have a sign and trade in place. Not even sure how that works in the NFL or you can do it without tampering. I would be shocked if anyone traded for him at his current contract.

This rub anybody else the wrong way? And you all know I'm not one of the rg3 haters.
I saw that. Honestly, I'm over him. Just move on, Robert.

That is why I am probably leaning towards them getting rid of him relatively soon. I understand that some folks are worried about where he might land, getting a pick, etc. However - I don't want any unnecessary drama occurring at Redskins Park. This thing almost sounds like a request to the media to start up with the RG3 stories all over again.

I don't even if care if RG3 lights it up for one of the Redskins rivals. It is all part of the NFL, and the Redskins have to be prepared to play good teams moving forward.

Looked to me like a parting shot on his way out. My thing is, if he was really over it... why take the time and energy to put this all together unless he is looking for the attention.

Its over, move on. Its kind of like a guy saying.. im over that bitch, yet he has her FB, Myspace and Twitter accounts all followed under another name. If you really over it, just be over it already.

They will wait til the last possible moment to release RG3.

Other teams will not want to wait that long to sign him. They will want him in their camp sooner, rather than later.

I think the pick will be higher than most expect. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was a first, I expect a second, satisfied with a third.

Looks like it's something that has been up for a while in the locker room or office somewhere as you can see where it's been ripped at the bottom. Who knows if he or someone else put it there. But really, who cares. Looks like media trying to squeeze the last RG3 in DC juice out.

What you mean the pick in trade for Griffin?? IF we got a 1st rounder for him, we would have to chip in and buy SMGM the hottie of his choice for a weekend. Because as it stands right now, we are likely going to cut him loose in the middle of march for nothing. So unless there is a team and coach totally in love with him and afraid they wont get him any other way, we stand to get squadoosh in return for Griffin. Yes i hope they can work out a way to get something back for him, but a 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounder is a tad bit of a stretch. I was thinking more like a conditional 7th rounder that could turn into a 5th rounder in 2017 based off of his performance. But even with that, I think the other team would likely want us to eat a part of that $16 million dollar salary.

I can only recall one team in recent times that has traded for a QB that everyone knew was going to be cut anyway. The Redskins. They gave up a 3rd I believe and basically outbid themselves. It's possible that this has happened since, but that one still irritates me. The McNabb trade is another one.... I hate this team sometimes

There is the rumor that Cousins won't begin negotiations until he's cut. But I stress that's a rumor only. If true, I'd cut him now. Also, there's the issue of that $16M option. We'd have to get him to negotiate out of that, and that may not be possible because he'd want to us to cut him to make him a free agent.

Who knows?

If true that would mean Cuz has too much triflin lil' bitch in him and I would not like that.

Nah it just means his agent is smart.

Think of it like this.. when you walk into a car dealership looking at a new ride, whats the first thing the salesman tries to do?? Get the keys to your current ride for an appraisal. In the car/bike trade its called the Dehorse maneuver. In order to get maximum value for his client, his agent will attempt to dehorse the Skins off of any other possible option no matter how nonviable that option appears. Add to it Snyders widely known love for Griffin, and I could see why this would be a sticking point in the beginning phases of contract talks.

Kirk Cousins on free agency: 'I want to be where I am wanted'

Based on this article it sounds like a good bet that Cousins & the Redskins will iron out an agreement over the offseason. The only issue appears to be if the Redskins somehow try to lowball him (don't expect that to happen). I would expect him to average at least $16M / season.
