No you won't. Even if you get Gary you wont end up with the #1 class, you won't even pass Ohio St. Especially considering the fact Ohio St only has 18 commits so far. You have 5 more commits than us and we are still ahead of you.
Not on Rivals or Scout you aren't. With a 5 star, #1, prospect and a couple four stars that could very well vault us to the top.

Well ESPN and 247 (which I think is the most accurate) has us ahead and like I said we only have 18 commits. #1 5 star could do wonders and put you up there but it would be pretty hard to pass us considering the rest of the recruits we get will be 4 stars and maybe 1 more 5 star possibly.

And you have very right to that disappointment.

This is why I discount voting and like playing the games instead of voting on it ala beauty contest. tOSU looked good, but...they looked like a dollar and performed like a dime! And they aren't the only one that got the benefit and hype of looking good and performing way below the hype.

Yep. Honestly, I think it was mental.

One of the things that I've really started to love about college football is the fact that these are twenty year old kids who seem to be more susceptible to emotions than, say, a 27 year old, millionaire NFL player. Going into the playoffs last year, everyone was talking about how tOSU didn't even belong there - that's a good motivator. Heading into this season, much of the CFB cognoscenti were practically handing the 2015/16 title to them. I think they got complacent. Also, as has been pointed out, losing the OC didn't help.

All that talent, and they didn't even make the playoffs. Is this the biggest choke job of the BCS/playoff era?
Technically we did the same thing in regards to the draft in the 2003 season after winning the 2002 title.

247 just does a composite of all the sties; which I would agree is probably the most accurate if they were to leave out ESPN. At this point I'm not even sure why ESPN tries to stay competitive in the recruiting world. They were always the worst and are still the worst today -- to the point where 247 was created and passed them in a matter of a few years.

But it's all about the number of points you get in terms of recruiting rankings. So if both Michigan and OSU add a similar number of recruits to finish the year it's about points. So Michigan will still finish ahead. I don't believe OSU is set to have a class of 27 like Michigan is, so the class will be smaller in the end anyway. It's not like OSU expects to sign 9 more kids -- or do they?

I found his prediction:
That prediction was made based off tOSU playing a 3rd string QB and I thought FSU was a 5 loss team that was lucky to be there. I and other Bama fans last year repeatedly said that our secondary was awful last year during the season. We had a good run D and a great attitude, but we were nowhere near talented enough to win it all. We had a fucking RB playing QB.

Regardless, your opinion of the 2014 Tide prior to the Sugar Bowl was, as I expected, vastly different than your opinion of the 2014 Tide today.

Not Really, Bama was rebuilding last year and really overachieved. That team should have lost 3 or 4 games

Average star ranking is important, yes. But class rankings, as we've discussed, are not based off average star ranking. Michigan's average star ranking is solid, top 15, and class ranking is top 5.

Yeah, ESPN is shit. Between 23-25 most likely. I doubt they get up to 27, but they didt just have 7 players that left early and are going to the NFL, so we will see. Regardless, both should have top 5 recruiting classes.

Last year you said class ranking wasn't important, the most important thing was average star ranking, where on rivals Michigan is about 15th.

Which is why I'm a playoff proponent.

During the BCS era think about the number of teams that were in the same position as tOSU that weren't even given the chance to play it out on the field. And Baylor/TCU may well have been just as good as FSU, Bama and Oregon last year. (But, I still think tOSU would have won...even had their been an 8 team playoff.)

I think team rankings are important only in the context of talking about national titles. I don't think any national title winner in the last 15 years has not had a top 2 class sometime in the previous 4 years. Average star rankings are important because it directly relates the overall star quality of your team and the potential that possesses.
