:gaah:

but there's still a chance the gun shooting dude is available, right ?

Mike Leake is willing to give a hometown discount to the D'backs.... I guess I can cross him off my wish list.

wait Leake sucked against the AL. I got a breakdown of MikeD #'s from Don.

so there's no way Leake could have had a reversal. Well, he's after the age of 27 so that was already set in stone that he couldn't EVER do well as an AL SP.
Leake is a back of the rotation starter looking for front of the rotation money... that is why he is unsigned right now and La Russa doesn't even want him at a discount.

sure. The batting average of Kingman combined with the KO's of Dunn. (not Dunn's HR prowess, imo)

I'm stoked to witness that.
in your own opinion you know very little about prospects.. so i take that with a grain of salt seeing as moya has power that grades out by scouts as elite... and led the eastern league in HR in 2014 and was 3rd in the international league in HR last year without playing in the first or last month there...

ya kinda like to shove your opinions down everyone's throat to which it can or does at times come across that you're right and everyone else is wrong.

Hell, I don't get into all the advance metrics. I leave that up to the more advanced.

I'm not so sure as to why you're so against Machado when he's roughly same age as Nick and over the last couple years he's improved at the plate in consecutive seasons.

Scouts can get it wrong can't they ? projections are just that. development of players become stagnant one way or the other whether it's instructors, player solely or combination of both.

Machado couldn't hit at any point... He is a career .240 hitter in the minors... He at no point has ever been regarded as being able to hit or having a future as a average MLB hitter... There is a HUGE difference between players with skills sets that take time to develop a players with no skill set what so ever. Machado is going to be lucky to hit .220 for his career in the MLB. His bat is hot garbage

this right here below kinda debunks what you're saying about Machado possible uptick. It's not that you're 100% wrong in your opinion as you've stated these kids take time to develop. well, is there a chance that maybe Machado is finally putting it together ?

MLB.com 2015 Prospect Watch
Scouting grades: Hit: 40 | Power: 30 | Run: 50 | Arm: 60 | Field: 60 | Overall: 45

Based on his defense, Machado is ready for the big leagues right now. The offensive breakout the Venzuelan had in Double-A in 2014 has the Tigers wondering if they might have a little more on their hands than expected.
Before the improvement at the plate, Machado looked like the prototypical all-glove, no bat shortstop. He has plus hands and arm to go along with outstanding range. This is not one of those prospects who will have to be moved off of shortstop because of defensive shortcomings. It's been his offensive limitations that have impacted his ceiling, with a .222 average before he hit .286 in 2014, bolstered by a .305 mark in Double-A. Machado has worked hard on his body and added some strength, which helped him stay healthy and become more productive with the bat.
Given that 2014 was the first year Machado ever really hit, he needed to do it again to convince some skeptics, and a solid turn in Triple-A in 2015 was certainly encouraging.

tbh, I could care less what a players physical stature is and whether or not that's used for or against as to what position he can or cannot play.

I'm well aware of quite a few players who are or were in close proximity to Moya's physical measurements.

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 65 | Run: 50 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55

After struggling with injuries for two years that kept him from getting more than 365 at-bats in any one season, Moya finally stayed healthy in 2014 and showed what he can do. The big outfielder from Puerto Rico finished fourth in the Minors in home runs and fifth in RBIs en route to making his Major League debut.
Moya has about as much raw power as any prospect in the game, the kind of hitter veterans will stop what they are doing to watch him take batting practice. He can hit the ball out of any ballpark, with strength and bat speed. With great power comes great swing and miss potential and Moya does strike out too much thanks to a long swing and poor pitch recognition, and he doesn't offset the K's with many walks at this point. Moya runs well, especially for his size and has a strong arm even following 2012 Tommy John surgery.
Moya is well aware he'll need to improve his approach to have long-term success at the big-league level. If he can, he has the chance to be a run-producer in the middle of the lineup, albeit one who will never hit for a high average.

Everyone is after Vice, its not Vice being a tool when he talks. Don't worry Blue, he has said plenty of times its just me who argues with him, I have known him long enough that EVERYONE argues with him if they have a brain. He once in a while gets a follower he likes because they agree with everything he says.

Adam Dunn is a great example to compare Moya to....you want to know why Dunn made it in the majors and Moya will never- Look at both their minor league stats you will see the difference - their walk to strikeout ratio - guys who strikeout more than 130 times in any minor league season RARELY make it in any capacity in the majors.

I actually agree with what this clown is saying about Moya... If Moya doesn't learn to lay off pitches outside of the zone he has no real shot at sticking in the majors. However.. one of the highest rated prospects in MLB Joey Gallo has the same strike out rates as Moya... and he is still rated the 6th best prospect in the game... Both hit a shit ton of HR in the minors.. and strike out a ton.. which few walks... Moya actually had a better BA and near identical OBP in AAA last year.. and Gallo played in the hitter friendly environment of the Pacific league.. and Moya played in the less hitter friendly International league. Odds are they both flame out to be honest.

and I will even say Joey Gallo will not make it in the majors either, unless his defense is as good as Rolen. He only has a slightly better walk rate but even Dunn didn't strikeout that much in the minors.

His numbers look very similar to Dallas Mcpherson, a former #12th best prospect, who flamed out because of those k rates.

Joey Gallo's defense sucks ass.
