Yep - that might be the route to go if any of the participants are willing. They may be more willing to renegotiate than some folks believe. This team is finally showing some signs of possibly having a bright future. This may result in players more willing to stay with this team even if it means taking a little less $$ (which was never true in the recent past).

A lot of players also like to remain with the same team for other reasons assuming that they don't have to sacrifice much. Again - I don't believe that Garcon is as easily replaceable as some suggest.

Seems like things are heading in that direction but we as fans (which means nothing more than arguing on a forum) are not going to completely trust in that process until it happens on a regular basis. Until then and probably after most will be playing amateur GM. It's what we do.

I already totally trust the current FO because of SM's track record. Just look at the who was primarily in charge of this area in the recent past for the Redskins - Vinny, pseudo GM Shanahan & for a short period of time Allen. None of these guys are anywhere close to SM in this role.

I will bet you any amt of $$ that SM will not make moves like 1. mortgaging the future for a headcase like Fat Al 2. trading numerous draft picks for someone like RG3 - heck he may not even draft a QB in the 1st rd anytime soon 3. wasting picks on a bloated, washed up QB like McNabb or 4. wasting the majority of high round picks on receivers who proved to ultimately be useless.

This is not about what we think since we don't run the team. I am convinced that with this new regime they won't be wasting lots of money, will draft wisely, will get rid of players who are past their prime & eating up lots of $$, will refrain from a lot of trades and will develop their talent.

You have already seen proof of them not keeping dead weight when they dumped Amerson earlier in the season as well as moving on from some other vets over the offseason. I have no doubt that you will see more of these moves over future offseasons. Stop portraying this as if the current FO is responsible for the bungling moves of the previous regimes.

No - when I reply I am replying to the whole board & sometimes there is a reference to others. You asked who portrayed the current FO in this manner & I showed you - not by the person but by the related quotes. It is all good - I am not trying to attack anyone - just trying to clarify the situation by basically stating that there is a new sheriff in town & it won't be business as usual for the Skins moving forward.

By now everyone knows my feeling on PG (just in case, good player, career #2, overpaid) Unless the team wants dead cap money in their future redoing his contract is probably not the best option. I still believe that the window for maximizing his trade value was last off season. There are a few options left that might still get us a late round 1st for him (sign and trade...see: N.E. and others) SM has promised to get bigger, stronger and faster and based on his recent PS signings that trend appears to extend to WR's as well. I would not be surprised at all if Jackson, Garcon or both are gone next year. The question in my mind is.....will the team attempt to get value in return or just let them walk.

I can't see PG drawing more than a 4th round pick, maybe lower. I don't see a ton of depth in WR's on the depth chart. Redo or cut loose though.
