I think we see a small version of 2012 running with a much better passing game

What do I expect or what do I hope? I hope for scenario b you've listed. If he can be a game manager this year with a signs of upside and growth, it will have been a good year for him. My expectations, however are much less. In fact, I don't see him finishing the year behind center. I expect he will get injured and we will all breath a sigh of relief as he will again struggle this year. His issues are just too tough for him to overcome. My expectations are probably a result of the last 15 years and just a protection mechanism.......I probably need to seek help.

We have extended his contract. However my understanding is they can still cut him and save the 16 million for next year. I could be wrong though...

Although my expectations are the same as j_y19.

Only if it's season ending for 2016. If he can play next year (pass a physical) then they can cut him without penalty. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hoping for an injury, but I just don't see him making through an NFL season.

What do I expect?? He will do just enough to make the team have to make a choice on keeping him, but also just enough to make us all throw stuff at the TV.

Expectation should be a game manager, just like Russell Wilson. RGIII has far more talent than Wilson does. But he's also his own worst enemy when it comes to humility and basic football skills like looking down the field when moving in the pocket, exercising poor judgment in protecting his body, etc.

it doesnt , if his injury is season ending this year they are on the hook for the 16 mil .
I thought it contingent upon NOT passing a physical at the beginning of 2016 footbAll year for the 16 mill option to kick in.

I hope for Option B but truly have minimal expectations this year.

I think way too many people associate athletic ability with talent. Wilson is a more talented QB, RG3 is (or at least was) the more athletic of the two. I do believe the best we can hope for is Griffin becomes a good game manager. But I expect that if SHTF he wil lrevert to his instincts and try to rely on his athletic ability which could either go really good, or really really bad.

If he is injured this year, we will likely eat all or some of the 16 million next year because if it looks as if he wont be the starter, there is no incentive for him to pass the physical and risk getting released with nothing to show for it and no likely shot at being a starter else where in that situation.

I see an R. Wilson like effort in Wilson's first year without the success. It all depends on J. Gruden becoming a run first HC that puts his QB in manageable situations. (Think....what Dallas did for Romo last year, again without as much success) Game manager with upside should be the goal this year, as the team gets better around him in subsequent years there's improvement and greater success as a game manager.

OK so you say in subsequent years. So you are OK with the team paying $16 million next year and god knows what after that for a game manager?? And again I will simply point out that Wilson is a more talented QB than RG3.

With very few exceptions most teams are paying for game managers.......including Seattle! I wouldn't say Wilson is more talented, just more polished and definitely better managed. Would love to know why you see him as more talented.

Because Wilson came into the league with an understanding of reading defenses, play concepts and other key factors that griffin has not had and is still trying to learn. If Wilson had been 6'3" he would have been the second QB taken in the draft in 2012. He also has never had to LEARN to protect himself at this level because he already had THAT skill coming in as well.

RG3 is the more polished athlete, Wilson is the more talented QB.

I don't see any of that as talent, just something that can be taught. Talent has to do with ability, generally natural ability, in this case physical skills.......again Wilson is more polished because as you've stated of what he's been taught or learned. Griffin certainly wasn't selected #2 overall because he was Andrew Luck like behind center, but because he had the physical skills that propelled him to become a top pick.
