This show was the steamiest pile of steamy shit since season 6 of The Sopranos.

Can somebody explain to me why the mayor's son killed him?

True Detective season 2 finale plot, explained.

Tony Chessani murdered both of them (and in both cases tried to make it look like suicide). Tony did this so he could become Mayor of Vinci—which he did—without any loose ends.
But, like, wouldn't he have become that anyway? Wouldn't the old man have given him all the money?

I'm convinced the only reason for him to kill his father is so the director/writer could put in a Sunset Blvd. reference because the only thing this season was missing was a reference to a film noir from 19 fucking 50.

Anyway, anybody see the trailer for that miniseries about desegregation in Yonkers? David Simon so hopefully it's more Wire/Homicide than Treme.

The topic doesn't interest me so much but because its Simon I will give it a watch. I much prefer The Wire but I also think Treme evolved into a good show.

Having the Mexicans take down Vince was weak.....They barely had a spec of relevance in this season...The whole suit thing

Just weak

Here's the thing with those Mexicans - they're only role was bringing the girl that Vince wanted to find because ??? (seriously, what did she have to do with anything at all?), slit her throat because ???, then demanded VV let them sell drugs in his club in return for having brought the girl to him, dead, and ???.

Couldn't get into it.

I read some smidgens about the subject matter (I won't ruin it) and it does have some depth to it and if there's one thing Simon's good at tackling it's that. Also, I enjoy saying Yonkers. Reminds me of this:

I'm still trying to wrap my head around why/how Casphere (sp?) screwed over Frank in the 1st place.

Other than that, most of the hanging questions were answered IMO.

All in all, not as good as season one.

Now it is on the season two of The Leftovers in Oct. :)

I'll be moving on to Fargo season 2. I miss Boardwalk Empire.

So glad I missed Season 2 of this show. I loved Season 1. I thought it was edgy and done really well. I saw the opener and just felt it was going to be garbage out of the gate.

I'll be moving on to Fargo season 2. I miss Boardwalk Empire.

I'm with you Nasty, I'm really looking forward to Fargo Season 2. Season 1 was awesome....

He didn't screw over Frank. Everything was good, it's just that when Caspere was murdered the Russian took all of the land behind Frank's back.
