Well if you're selling off Beltre, Gallardo and/or Andrus, now is probably as good a time as any, b/c your season is probably over if that's the scenario, hopefully as a stop gap for Profar.... hopefully

I want Profar to succeed so bad. He's such a good kid, and has all the talent. Poor guy just can't catch a break.

I agree with that for this year. I was under the impression we were talking about going forward and not just for the rest of the year. Although, if Elvis and Beltre both were traded for Seager then Seager might play SS and Gallo 3B for the remainder of the year, but they might put Seager at AAA I guess. Like I mentioned before though, with Seager a lefty I don't see them trading for him. Lots of different ways to go I guess.

I feel the same way. I am holding my breath until he gets to that throwing-from-120-feet status. That is where he has felt the pain both of the other times.

Rangers Franchise Four were:

Adrian Beltre
Ivan Rodriguez
Nolan Ryan (also on Astros and Angels)
Michael Young

That's a good list. Young has a career .300 BA. Is he a borderline hall of famer?

Give me Palmeiro and Juan Gonzalez over Young and Nolan. Pudge definitely belongs and I can't argue with Beltre.

I'd probably do Gonzalez over Young too. And man, I love Beltre, but as far as an "all-timer" goes, I'm not entirely sure. I'd put Beltre over Young, FWIW.

and no, I don't think there's a HOF case for Young. Good player for a lot of years. Nice accumulation of stats with one team.

As my father would say, "look out that window."

As much as I like Beltre he has no business being on any sort of all-time Rangers list

As I've stated before, I've never read anything to where someone has confidence that Seager can stick at SS and we we know what I think about Gallo at 3B

Seager being LHed is also problematic, making me think Urias would be the better target in that scenario

Also, how Johnny Bench was named one of the 4 greatest living players, I'll never know.

Seager to 3B and Gallo to RF?

We've got a bit of a problem in that all of our top hitting prospects except Alfaro are lefty's. Someone is going to have to be traded. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it though

I agree about Young not being a HOFer. However, if he had played his entire career with the Yankees he would go in on the first ballot probably.

I thought about that as well, but like I said his LH status makes him problematic

Yes it does. Going into next season doing that deal we could easily have the following lefty's in our daily lineup.

Gallo
Seager
Hamilton
Moreland
Fielder
Odor

That's 2/3 of the lineup, and not a good thing.

JD has been talking about this RH bat he's been trying to acquire for a while now. Wonder who he has in mind? Saw some were saying they thought Delmon Young, could be a possibility. I always enjoy this time of the season with all the rumors and such really swirling. Do we sell, or buy? Additions by subtraction? What gives?

I really got no interest in DY, but then again no one is asking me.

With Mazara & Williams knocking on the door

My thoughts exactly. The good news is we've got the bullets to go after a big RH bat or two. Just need to pick the right guy at the right time.
