Instead of educating, Fisher has enabled, fostering a culture where accountability is an annoyance for other people and athletic talent is enough to absolve almost any sin. And Florida State and its faithful go right along with him.

You, her nor I have a clue as to what he is or isn't doing.
We now have an opportunity to see whether or not Jimbo Fisher has the cajones to back up what he says. As Stewart Mandel pointed out yesterday,

Florida State Seminoles: How will Fisher handle Dalvin Cook after he dismissed De'Andre Johnson? | FOX Sports

if Delvin Cook is treated differently than De'Andre Johnson, then every elite player down the road will know unambiguously that they have a free pass.

My hypothesis is that Delvin Cook will be the starter on opening day for FSU. I am hoping that it is ultimately proven to be incorrect.

I bet that unless the charges are dropped or lessened by a lot he is gone. And he should be if what the woman says is true. There are two stories for this that I have seen. If the positive one is false then he needs to go. Oh he has kicked off elite players already.

I just hope whatever the consequences given for being found at a bar or club are severe. Just make it known up front. Get caught at one... Booted immediately.

I, for one, hope you are right.

In the meantime, telling the team to stay out of bars is a good first step. But now he has to back it up (because there will be players who will test that boundary.)

I do too. See my post above yours. That is what I would tell them the consequences are.

You know, not to pass judgment on any particular case, but it seems if you're a public figure charge=guilt. Would any of us not be outraged to be treated the same way? These discussions go on and on as if the verdict is already reached.

Side note: The case against Winston was total shit, and he's the first one I've seen go after the accuser.

Take the UVa r*pe article. How many people bought that hook, line, and sinker? I have no idea if this or that charged player is guilty. I just notice in every single case, for the majority of people, the presumption of innocence gets thrown right the fuck out the window, with predictable consequences.

I know what you're saying, but in this particular instance the dude fucked up when he retaliated. Once he did that, she became the victim. It's in the video.

Yes, when you're presented with clear evidence yourself, then you can draw reasonable conclusions. Most of the time that isn't even close to the case.

Agreed. As dudes we're guilty until proven innocent. In a sense it's a stereotype.

As was pointed out earlier, guys let a lot of female aggressive actions go (out of pride) where a woman is quick to play the victim card.

I have a buddy that was arguing with a chick that was shacking up with him. During the argument she flicked her cig ashes on his brand new carpet. He told her not to flick her ashes on his carpet and she dropped her cig and ground it out with her foot. He told her to leave and she refused, so he physically threw her out of his house (did not hit her) and she promptly called the cops for domestic abuse. She had red marks on her arms so they arrested him.
Since she was getting mail at his house she was considered 'a resident' and he had to give her 30 days notice to leave. In that 30 days he had a restraining order that prevented him from returning to HIS house. She milked it the entire 30 days and cleaned him out by the time he got her removed. :L

Well, shit. Realize that was probably the high point in her life, though. Trash.

He suckered into her looks. She was hawt. She moved in pretty quick and after a few months of no job and not doing anything around the house things started going south. The argument was over him telling her it was over and she needed to move out.

He swears he didn't grab her by the arms (more of a bear hug) and that she scratched her arms up herself for visual effect to the cops. She wasn't happy the gravy train was running out.

We heard she moved in with some other dude soon after and that only lasted a couple months as well.

I agree that Cook needs to be punished the same as Johnson unless it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he didn't actually punch the woman, which I have yet to see any denial of that or any story claiming he didn't, so...

As for the last part? I sincerely doubt it.

Just so you know. Cook did deny hitting her. It is in the probable cause affidavit.

Whether true or not. :no idea:

@FSUmanager haven't seen anyone else say it so I will. Much appreciation to you for dealing in facts and trying to be as unbiased as possible. Can't be easy having this shit storm come down on your program but you've done well to put allegiances aside and look at the facts

Hope they can clean the gutters, appropriate punishments given, and get past all of this. We just need football to start up again!

First he has to be cut loose by FSU. Fisher says Cook deserves a fifth chance.

Cook has denied not only hitting the woman, but also being involved in any altercations.
