So LeBron is refusing to talk to Cleveland until they sign Thompson?
IDK on this one. The Lakers appeared to have done this deal out of panic, but that makes little sense because they didn't need to sign a FA this year. If we did fine, but this has Jim Buss written all over it. Like I said, IDK. If B. Scott can get the man's mind right maybe it will turn around.
1.) I don't mind the hibbert deal as its just a deal to get an expiring contract(much like the Lin deal). This year is gonna be the year to watch the young bucks develop. They're basically looking to next year, and given recent history I know that this is nothing that's a guarantee...but we'll have 65 mil(I think) in cap space next year. Biggest thing things this year for us is to have the young guys develop, and to have the front office get it together
To be honest, I thought the move was made to let him go next year and keep cap space. NOW, if it does start to look like he's worth something then by all means, if we can get him for a good bargain, then it'll be nice to have a rim protector going forward. All depends on the situation and who's availableYeah, as an expiring contract, maybe he's worth a shot. If they get something close to the Hibbert we saw against the Heat a couple of seasons ago, it might be okay. But I'm not holding my breath.
Worst case though, he continues to be soft as Charmin and the Lakers let him walk at the end of the season.

Because rebounding is about instincts and positioning not size
Well, he's 7 feet tall. So, there's that.

Call his bluff. Lebron ain't leaving Cleveland or he's forever labeled an ass by everyone. They paid big for Love so Lebron can't play the "well Gilbert was too cheap" card. He has zero leverage now. Tell Thompson he gets 12 mil (perfectly fair) or he can take the QO.

IDK why everyone is interpreting that news from Windhorst as "LeBron is holding out so TT gets a good deal"... when what Windhorst actually reported was that LeBron has told the Cavs he's not going anywhere, so go ahead and take care of everyone else since there's no hurry to ink LeBron since there is no threat of him leaving.
Everything Windy reports should be taken with a grain of salt anyway
Come on.
You really think Tristan in any other circumstance would have turned down the original 52, let alone not JUMP on 80?
He has no fear of Gilbert telling him to take a hike, because Gilbert knows James will tell him to take a hike if he doesn't honor his promises.
Maybe James will next want his buddy Norris Cole there at maybe 6-7M/year.
This really is going to be fun to watch.
ah yes, let the slings and arrows begin...![]()
