geezus....it is getting a little dark there. None of these power forward scorers wants the responsibility of playing center and having to play defense every night....its a little said- but it is what it is in todays NBA....kinda why I thought the Caulie-Stein pick was nice for Sac. if they can just let DeMarcus play basically PF and score and board- he will be a lot happier.

Its hard finding a center that actually wants to play defense and guard the rim...they have value- guys like Tyson Chandler. Honestly- Hibbert wouldnt be bad on the 1 year deal. Whiteside- while I in no way think he is nearly as good as the Heat lemmings, he lets Bosh do what he does best and takes some pressure off Bosh.

Lakers need that guy- he doesnt have to be great- but just a guy that lets the other star know that he doesnt have to fight 300 lb's in the post. Mozgov is fine doing it for the Cavs and its not like he is overtly special.

maybe Lopez wouldnt be a terrible get if he only gets like 12-14 a year....which is an overpay but shit man- you gotta overpay to get anything done right now.

having said that- The Lakers should maybe look at Tobias Harris- hes 22 years old. 3's are practically impossible to find. You might have to give him a max- but at least that gets the ball rolling and you add a young player that can play both ways athletically.

I like this idea. Apparently, Orlando has no intention of matching offers if someone offers him a max or near max. A deal at that level would look like an overpay now. But next year, when the cap goes up and Kobe's contract comes off the books, it'll look a whole lot better. Especially if he keeps developing.

I'm still wondering what you think of CBS sports list of top FA which had Dragic 6 and Love 8.

What you need to learn and understand is that you need to quit looking at just names.
If that's all it took to win, the Spurs could have never beat us, let alone destroy us.

The formula to beat James is to be very good at team ball, while having someone or 2, that can make James have to work hard on both ends of the court.

It's worked the last 2 Finals, and that's the roster Riley is trying to construct.

you gotta be able to shoot, and defend on the perimeter.....Who guards LeBron? a rookie Winslow? thats a disaster waiting to happen- maybe 2, probably 3-4 years down the road maybe he can do a Iguadala or Butler imitation....Dragic guarding Kyrie will end very poorly as well. you guys definitely have an improved and balanced offense- but need some more 3 pt shooting......I thinkt he biggest disparity would probably be in the front court though....Bosh and Whiteside can both play- but the Cavs have 4 bigs that can play. Bosh and Love for the most part cancel eachother out...Wade really did up his effort and play against the Cavs last year i do have to give him that....

Right now, on paper, our puzzle looks pretty damn good.

When you have James, there is no puzzle.
You know what's coming.
Stopping him is another issue, but the blueprint is out there.

you just gotta hope he keeps developing. He definitely has the athletic ability to bea good two way player. He doesnt have to be a multi time all star to justify it long term- but he does have to be pretty good.

I mean- the Lakers in my opinion do have to sign a couple guys just to give the young guys some credible players to play with and make sure the situation doesnt get too negative for the young guys. I really think the Sixers miss that boat a little- letting guys lose lose lose does hurt after a while. Thank goodness LeBron came back and pulled KI and Thompson out of it.

If Atlanta was healthy.........I think they would have won the series vs the Cavs.

you also thought the Wizards were better than the Cavs....I mean...with all due respect- the Cavs did sweep them without Love, Varejao and KI played like 3 quarters....I will disagree with ya on that one as I kinda think Atlanta was a little bit of a fraud...too predicable...when you play against that style in a series you figure it out. Team was not built for the playoffs to say the least.

The biggest problem the Lakers have right now for attracting FA's is they have some promising young guys, but only Clarkson has any kind of sample size and that's only a half season.

I'm not too worried if they don't get much out of this FA. If the youngsters play well next year, I think FA's will feel a lot more comfortable about joining the Lakers.

Deng does a very good job on James.
The key is to have players who can just focus on D with all their energy and not worry about offensive production.
We can do that.

As far as Winslow, I know nothing about him, but I love what I'm hearing.
I have no problem letting a young, talented, hungry, energetic kid go after James for whatever minutes he plays.
The kid claims he's a D first player.

And, as far as Dragic/Kyrie, I disagree because Dragic will be the ball handler. Kyrie isn't slowing him down, plus he's forced to work hard on the defensive end.
James is your primary ball handler. If Kyrie catch and shoots, which he does well, you live with it.

To me, Atlanta is one of those teams that is built for the regular season. They'll beat the top level teams on a Tuesday night in January, because you don't really know who to focus on. But when teams have a 7 game series to focus on them, they become much more beatable.

He's a high flyer, those shock absorbers (knees) will eventually give out and then he'll turn into just a jump shooter and not the explosive player he once was.

Probably gonna get smacked by some fellow Lakers fans for this. But if I'm dealing one of our young assets for Boogie, I'd rather it be Randle than Russell. Word is, the Lakers haven't called the Kings in a while because Russell is the asking price and the Lakers don't want to part with him. The Kings also haven't called the Lakers in a while, because they refuse to include Russell.

To me, Atlanta is one of those teams that is built for the regular season. They'll beat the top level teams on a Tuesday night in January, because you don't really know who to focus on. But when teams have a 7 game series to focus on them, they become much more beatable.

1-They were without Horford, their main low post guy.

2-Carroll is a very good defender and once he was hurt, they were screwed.

I'd do that but I think it'll take Russell to pry Boogie out of Sacramento.
