I seriously doubt its the moving around that's affecting him so much than it is quality ML pitchers have started to figure out his weaknesses and how to pitch him... with a little help from the umps and the "Murphy Zone" they've been applying to him

So in essence I'm agreeing with you...
I agree. I really don't think it was the moving around that hurt Profar as much as the inconsistent playing time. The moving around probably didn't help, but I think Profar suffered more from not playing everyday on a consistent basis.

I think Joey just needs to make some adjustments and he has always been able to do that in the past so I think he will again when he comes back up the next time.

Does anyone have a guess to why this is happening? Been going on for two years, at least.

Surely it can't be b/c the mgr hasn't thrown a fit. Can it?

I don't understand why it happens to us, and doesn't seem to work the other way around for squat.

I'm as baffled as you are.

I don't think it needs to be a fit thrown, but someone needs to be compiling some video in regards to it and send it to the Commish and Umps governing body, whatever they call themselves, this is obviously not something that's being properly addressed as a chronic problem, its certainly more than just isolated incidents

When it happens enough that your announcers can directly reference it and have a name for it, thats pretty bad IMO

I agree and have said for a year or two that this can be a learned behavior to correct this problem if MLB and the umpires would take the time to do it. Those calls completely take the bat out of the hitters hands and put them on the defensive.

That was the way Wash said it happened. Interviewed for the first time about it several months later Feliz disputed Wash's claims. Wash also disagreed with Endy Chavez abotu something tha thappened late in that game. Chavez said he was originally scheduled to go out for Cruz for defensive purposes in the 9th and Wash changed his mind. Wash denied that. So we have two cases where two folks said opposite things happened late in that game. The common denominator is Wash. I personally believe Wash lied in both cases. No reporter ever found another player or coach to quote backing up Wash's story in either case.

Neftali Feliz: I was calm enough to pitch 10th inning of Game 6 | | Dallas Morning News

“I was very upset,” Feliz said about the game-tying two-run triple by David Frese that tied the game at seven. “I wasn’t that mad at myself because I threw my pitch [fastball]; he just hit it. I was just upset that it happened. But by the time we got back to the dugout and Josh [Hamilton] hit his home run, I had calmed down. I thought I was going to go out there for the 10th. I was calm enough.”

Well we do know that Wash threw players under the bus a couple of times so what you wrote could be possible.

I keep reminding myself Gallo started last season in A ball and moved up to AA ball. I think the way Banny is handling him is the right way. Gallo needs some AAA time. It worked (so far) for Odor this year.

Most important thing is that Gallo gets his swings in regardless of position, if he can separate the two then he'll be fine

Or it could be Dave Magadan is not very good with young hitters.

You're the first person who's brought him up for a while now.

It just strikes me about Magadan and the the position he holds, few have gotten better, even fewer have progressed. But maybe we're all selling him short b/c Moreland is hitting the ball well due primarily to getting back to what was his strong-suit (hitting in the gaps), and Prince has had an absolutely fantastic comeback.

Of course then there's Elvis, CHOO, Martin, Chirinos, blah-blah-blah, on-and-on.

Gallo has struggled in the ways almost anyone with a brain could predict, I doubt anyone can lay this at the feet of Magadan

I agree. As much as we could/should and want to pile on, Gallo may be the least of the lot, when it comes to assessing blame.

Right now, Gallo is a young, Dunn starter kit, with more tools.

He can, IMO, he become a decent hitter at all levels, IF he's willing to learn. And from what I've seen, this guy is very coachable, and we'll see if he can't be a .270 type hitter at the ML level yet.

I think Prince hitting again has to do with health more than anything.

Have you ever thought about how many AA players we have on this team. And I mean about half a season of AA at the most. Martinez, Chi Chi, Odor, Gallo and could be missing someone else along the way who has been up here this year. These are not guys sitting on the bench. They are starting. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

The Los Angeles Angels are trying to acquire hitting at the deadline, specifically a left-handed batter who could fit at left field or designated hitter and has on-base percentage skills, reports Fox Sports’ Jon Morosi.

Choo anyone?

Yes, it is. I am hoping at least by September we can bring up Mazara and/or Williams as well, but that would probably mean we would have to be sellers at the deadline to open up some 40 man roster spots. There is a lot to be determined between now and then before that can happen.
