alright, what the hell? I'm not a fan of this at all especially since it sounds like the Kings gave up their 1st round pick.

you beat me by a second. But yeah, I don't like this at all. This must mean Justin Williams is gone? They are saying Martin JOnes is going to Boston too along with a 1st. This doesn't look good.

Trade is our 1st pick (13th), Martin Jones & Colin Miller for Milan Lucic. Lombardi must have something else up his sleeve because I do NOT think they can bring Lucic in with them already being so close to the cap.

Voynov's salary came off so there was some flexibility

Even so, there's still Brown & Richards contract Lombardi needs to deal with. Lucic has a 6 million dollar cap hit and is a UFA after this year. There's so many things about this deal that I don't like.

saw it. I'll admit that makes this trade much more bearable. I fear the Kings are trying to go all in this year for one more cup because this could get very ugly next offseason.

I hate this deal even with the retention of salary by Boston. What are they going to do with him, you don't give up a 1st round pick for a guy to play the bottom 6. Our top 6 are currently Gaborik-Kopitar-Brown then Pearson-Carter-Toffoli.

Unless they are going to continue playing Brown on the 4th line which makes no sense for a guy wearing the C on his chest.

Brown is going to have to get used to it. I'd prefer Lucic on that top line over Brown. If his life is on the 3rd line next season, so be it for our captain.

Not happy with this trade. This is supposed to be a deep draft. The Kings sitting at 13 had a solid spot to get a solid player.

I like Lucic and Boston paying half the cap, but I think they gave up too much for a UFA next season.

Berube doesn't have a contract with the Kings anymore, who's our backup?

To my knowledge he does. I recall him signing a 2-year contract last year. He should have another year with the team. I don't know if he's ready to be a backup though. I would prefer him to have another year of grooming in the AHL.

I can't see the Kings signing him and Kopitar next year.
Also does this close any door on Sekera?
