Those would be absolutely pathetic numbers for a top 10 pick. Especially with what OBJ did his rookie year, and what Jimmy Graham did in year 2 in the same offense.

Fauria caught 7 TD's his rookie year for Pete's sake and he wasn't even drafted.

meh..... cruz was out most of the year (yep OBJ was out for first 4 games, I believe)

If you look at BP's first year, Ebrawny isn't all that much behind him considering rookie years. BP's 2nd and 3rd year his stats escalated quite a bit. even 2013 was still pretty damn good for BP, IMO.

I still don't like the pick of Ebron but he's a LION and I hope for the best. He needs to shut his fuckin' mouth and not be concerned with what other player's stats are.

Pettigrew saw all those targets because he was the safety valve for Stafford. I would be very disappointed if Ebron is used in that role. Also -- during those times -- Detroit lacked a quality 2nd option on offense, so dumping the ball off to Pettigrew played a huge role.

Ebron's numbers will go up, I hope. It'd be pretty difficult to go down from his rookie year if he is on the field and playing. I just have a tempered outlook on what I expect him to put up and it has nothing to do with despising the draft pick, but in his role with the offense.

We also have a QB who will look away from a target if they get a case of the drops and while unfortunate, I think that will hurt Ebron too. At least until Stafford has complete faith in him.

Agreed. Quit worrying about Twitter and making predictions and just play football.

Those are his personal goals. I don't think he does it either.

As far as catches, he's expected to get 90 targets, which means he should end up with about 60 or so grabs if he plays well. If he really is a play maker, and they target him all over the field, he should push 1000. And he should push dd TD's.

Calvin probably won't play all 16 games, that's just the reality of things. There are gonna be a couple games where Ebron will be expected to carry the passing game.

Calvin Johnson has missed 8 games in 8 years. You talk about him as if he is an injury waiting to happen. His last two injuries were bad luck high ankle sprains.

As far as the number of targets he gets -- it all depends on the offense. If we go away from the team throwing the ball 650-700 times and try to control the clock more. I'm not sure he will see that many. Also depends on how many chances he loses to players at his own position, as they said they wanted to use Pettigrew more. And if the RB they drafted has as good of hands they say -- he will be Stafford's safety valve.

If Ebron is used to take shots down field. I could see him getting to 5-600 yards. Touchdowns -- no clue, as we didn't really see much out of him. I see Ebron being used between the 20's more. I see him down the pecking order in the red zone, with guys like Calvin and Fauria who are bigger with a larger catch radius and better hands.

It is nothing but guess work right now. No one knows what is going to happen, so it is all speculation. I could be dead wrong about everything.

He's missed 5 in the last 2 years. So, if my math is right, that means he only missed 3 in his first 6 years.

Which is equal to the amount Ebron missed his rookie year. But CJ was drafted at 2, EE at 10, so there's gonna be an expected drop off somewhere, right?

All that matters is last year. Is he fully healed? Probably never. He has knee issues, hand issues, ankle issues etc...He's taken a lot of punishment during his career. I have all the respect in the world for him, but he's not getting any younger.

speaking of OBJ. This dude needs to go find his ball-sack (maybe it's with Mulch's). Immaturity issues galore and over some simple ribbing from teammates for missing some mini-camp.

New York Giants QB Eli Manning: Odell Beckham Jr. should lighten up over jokes | FOX Sports

Quarterback Eli Manning has one piece of advice for the talented, young wide receiver: Lighten up.
“You’re not practicing, people are gonna get on you a little bit,” Manning said during a Friday appearance on WFAN’s “Boomer and Carton” show, via a report from the New York Daily News. “If you’re not practicing, you’ve got to sit there and take it.”

Manning stressed that the comments weren’t mean-spirited in the least, so Beckham needs to take it in stride.
“It’s fun-loving,” he said. “People might say, ‘How’s your fingernail?'”
Beckham skipped a media interview on Thursday, presumably over sore feelings, not a sore hamstring, but expressed his frustration with the jokes and ribbing during an interview earlier in the week with ESPN.

BB_72; so while Ebrawny has to learn some humility, OBJ might be needing some of dem fem napkins Smitty was talking about. IMO.

Megatron has already stated he feels great. He is fine. We will do more running this year anyway. The guy plays through his injuries too.

How is Odell Badhamstring Jr. making out with his injury? Is he still crying that the bigger kids are making fun of him?

I often wonder what if Pete was named Paul or John? Would it of stuck?

Had OBJ been on the Lions he never puts up those numbers. We prolly read articles about how he was going to put Ebron like numbers for Detroit this year.

Speaking tampons. The back dimples in Smitty's new avatar should have to use a roll of bounty and piece of 3/4" kernmantle rope to stop her flow.

The Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett observes that drops are "still an issue" for Eric Ebron at OTAs.

Take nuggets from offseason workouts with a grain of salt, but this one is noteworthy nonetheless. Ebron only caught 54.3 percent of his targets as a rookie and dropped four of the 29 "catchable" balls that came his way. His 13.79 percent drop rate was sixth-highest among tight ends who played 25 percent of their team's snaps. Ebrawny's hands were a big question mark coming out of UNC.

This is nothing new. We knew he didn't have good hands to begin with. I'd just be happy to see him get any type of separation on vertical routes. If we see that from him this year -- I'd be happy with his progress.

If he has less than 10 ypc again -- it will be depressing, as Pettigrew can do that.

If you want to say 60 catches 700 yards and 7 tds -- I'd take that bet immediately.

I figured you would go with the high number I presented. It has to be somewhere in between. 52 catches, 630 yards and 6 tds.
