I don't know if I agree or disagree.
Trestman has shown a lot on losing team. Will going to a "ready" team make the difference?

To be honest, I never knew anything about Trestman except he was the Bears HC, and when I heard we hired him as new OC after Kubes, I was in a total forehead squint and whispering, huh.....
But with his experience, and rep with qb's, he is highly regarded around the league as an outstanding OC, and nobody can win with Cutler, so he gets a pass there...
But I didn't make the rankings, I'm just going by people that are more qualified to judge those things than me...
I knew our Oline was tops and our HC was top 5 at least, so 3 is a treat...
And hoping they are right about Trestman, it sure is looking good at practice according to all reports....:hope:

You can have an argument for both ways. Carroll has accomplished more in the past couple of years and he's the flavor of the moment. The argument for Harbs is obviously his record and making the postseason in six of his seven years but Carroll has accomplished one thing that Harbs has never been able to accomplish. That is having a losing season (not once but twice).

I am glad that Harbs is finally getting some much over due recognition as a top coach. He's been way overlooked considering his accomplishments over the past seven years.

To be honest, I am not sure what to expect from Trestman. He has a long line of short stints as part of his resume and I am not sure if that is good or bad.

All reports on him are good and OTA's looked to be working well...
I think we can look for him to cut Joe loose with more deep ball plays than Kubes did but a lot of stuff across the middle and check downs to the RB.....I mean Joe has the best deep ball in the league so why not use it ??

Agreed about the deep passes. I hope Perriman can pick up where Torrey left off. We've had too many OTA warriors in the past.

Since I can't start a new thread (new poster limits), I am going to use this thread to throw some thoughts out there. Oz and Company has done a great job of stocking the team but I do feel we are missing something. I think we are missing young game changers (HOF type of players such as R. Lewis, E. Reed, or Ngata in years past who can change a game at any time). We have plenty of playmakers such as Jimmy, CJ Mosley, Webb (when healthy), and Pitta (when healthy) who can make that INT or TD on a regular basis.

I did put in CJ in the latter group because that is what he has shown so far so he could develop into the next group but we haven't had a true game changer drafted since probably Ngata and Suggs before him. Maybe being constantly drafting in the 20's has something to do with it but we did get R. Lewis, E. Reed, and even Heap in the 20's/30's. Is it a concern? Can we win the SB without them? You think any of the rooks show that potential?

FYI, I do believe that Flacco is a game changer but i am looking beyond the QB.

I think CJ certainly has the potential to develop into that guy, his rook yr was better than Rays, but who knew Ray would be the great motivator and leader he became in the beginning ?
Kendrick Lewis's reports are that he is fitting really well at safety and is a ball hawk like Reed, a little slow on the 40 but very instinctive so maybe not an Ed Reed but a very good upgrade from last yr...
I also think Perriman could be another AJ Green, and Maxx could be another Todd Heap for us, maybe better....
Just speculation I know but I can't remember a draft I was more convinced and excited about than this one....
Can't wait for some real football to get started....
Goooooo Ravens !!!!!

I heard about Kendrick Lewis' challenges with time. To be honest, I am a little worried about it and I hope he is able to offset it with his instincts.
As for the young drafted players, Jimmy Smith is the closest. He hasn't shown the knack for the ball but he can cover like crazy which is huge. I would like to see him take the next step with turnovers. Webb did say in an interview that the secondary is working on more aggressive with INT's this year.
I think CJ has that potential. I would like to see him attack the ball. Get some turnovers. He had 2 int and 1 ff last year.
It would be nice to have someone emerge from the DL such as Timmy Jernigan. There's a lot of talk about Brandon Williams but I see him as an elite run stuffer. Not as someone that could disrupt the passing game.

Jernigan did a great job filling in for Ngata last yr in those 4 very important games leading into the playoffs...
It convinced Ozzie that they could do without Ngata and his huge contract, so I expect he will do well, and he's still developing...The sky is the limit with this guy...Jimmy is already a shut down corner and still developing, like you say, a few more turnovers would advance his status and cause qb's to stay away from his side of the field....
I think it will come for him, but he has to work on staying healthy so he can get all 16 in....
