In all honesty, a seperated shoulder on that kind of play is a little different than a 7 footer with KNEE injuries, which you see a lot. Now Kyrie on the other hand, has some issues, his minutes will need to be carefully distributed at the early half next season, kind of like DRose IMO.

True, but Love was already starting to be considered injury prone. Which makes one wonder a little about Lebron's decision to return to Cleveland and demand the roster changes he did. Part of the reason (at least from some Cavs fans) that he left Miami was because Wade had become injury prone. So he goes to Cleveland who has a young superstar point guard who's injury prone and then traded for a star PF who is injury prone.

Ummm, your post is on the same freaking page....here let me help you out.

Right... I never said they didn't miss one single open shot. I was making the point that it wasn't a case of them being constantly open and just throwing up bricks. I even acknowledged later on that I am sure there were one or two wide open misses but it wasn't like their guys were just sitting wide open the whole quarter and missing.

The Cavs missed open shots the whole game. They shot 30% from 3, 10% lower than average in the playoffs. I know Lebron shot 8, but they were still missing wide open shots as well, so it goes both ways.

True, but the difference is that you expect the Warriors will start hitting them because that's what they do. With the Cavs, you hope they'll start hitting them.

Luck is ALWAYS a big part of winning championships. Especially luck with injuries.

Cavs/Cavs fans have had more luck then any other team just because of the NBA lotto thing.

As far as the ups and downs of actual games, so many things happen.
Is it luck or just part of the game?
These guys are SO HIGHLY skilled, that I hardly call them making difficult shots, etc..luck.
Ray Allen wasnt lucky IMO.
Heat were fortunate to get the rebound to get the shot, but thats part of the game.

I can't say I agree that he's injury prone, though. Aside from one season with only 18 games, the guys has averaged 70 games played per season, which for a PF isn't bad. The hand injury was what kept him out for 64 games in 2012-2013, and it was likely because he returned way too early when he first injured it. Since then, unless I'm missing something, it hasn't been a problem has it?

Yeah you're right, but you have to think his shoulder would've been fine if it was just another incident where two big guys got tangled up (probably happened to him 4-5 times a game). At any rate, I know they're raising the salary cap and Dan Gilbert had more money than God, but I don't know if he's worth max money at this point. If we had Love, I think we'd be right where we are now and possibly would've had a game 1 win (2 points from Tristan certainly had me clamoring for Love, despite all the rebounds), however it's no guarantee.

He'll get max money somewhere, I have no doubt. There seems to be a lot of smoke with him and Boston. Have you heard anything about that?

Agree with pretty much all of this. I don't think the Olynyk play was dirty, one of those freak things that can happen when guys that big get tangled up and are being physical with each other. Like Bynum's knee, it just didn't look like he should have been hurt as bad as he ended up being. When it happened, I figured it was just what is known in football as a "stinger" and he'd be right back out there.

I agree that someone is going to give Love a max deal. Just a question if the Cavs will be the team. On Boston, that rumor started right around the time of the trade to Cleveland, had some steam for awhile and even replaced some of the Love to the Lakers talk. Now, it seems to have fizzled out and the Love to the Lakers talk has started up again.

It'll probably go back and forth with a couple of other teams thrown in just for shits and giggles. If the Cavs are smart and Love does decide to leave, they'll try to do a sign and trade so they can get something back for him since they can pay him more than anyone else.

He may not be certified as injury prone just yet. But folks have been saying that it may be the case with him for at least a couple of seasons. So the concern had been raised.

You said it in the first sentence of your post....here try again.

Except GS wasn't missing "open" shots. Cleveland was playing damn solid defense. Watching that first quarter, I must've missed all these times when GS players were left sitting wide open and bricking their shots. They were missing shots, that's for sure, but just because they miss them it doesn't mean they were open.

That's the luck part. Ray Allen hitting that 3 wasn't luck, that was Ray Ray being Ray Ray. It's like the Robert Horry shot when the Lakers beat the Kings in that game 6. Horry hitting that shot wasn't luck, he does that. The luck was that, in an attempt to keep Shaq from getting a dunk to win the game, Vlade swatted the ball away and it went straight to Horry who was standing all by himself at the 3 point line.

Great game last night. LeBron did everything he could, but I feel the Cavs just ran out of steam at the end of the game. The Warriors' depth is for real. LeBron's the best individual player, but the Warriors just out-teamed them.

I hope Irving doesn't have a serious injury. Assuming he has the option of playing the rest of the series and that continuing to play puts him at risk of serious injury, what do you do if you are him? Do you risk the rest of your career for the chance to win this Finals?

That's a great question. I think that is a personal choice, a hard personal choice to make.

now we have to wait until sunday for game 2. NBA really needs to fix the schedule issues. We waited 8 days for game 1 and not a long lay over for game 2. its not like its a travel day.

Great stat: this is where LBJ needs to learn. This is from ESPN.

LeBron James had 37 isolation plays in Game 1. He shot 11-for-28 on those plays (39%), compared to 7-for-10 on shots off a pass (70%).

That was the problem with Divac. He never really played man ball, so to speak. He relied too much on flopping and finesse. Just be a man and grab the damn ball instead of batting it! LOL

Last night I was feeling the pain of the loss. This morning I was feeling rah-rah, go cavs go.

I'm coming down from that now and starting to see the reality of the two teams in front of me.

I'm sure by Sunday I'll be back to full believe-land mode.

Well, the only time this current Cavs team played GS at full strength this year the Cavs won by double digits.

ah, the regular season example...:L

Last night, without Love at all and with Kyrie still being bothered by tendonitis, we controlled the game in regulation and were about an inch away on Shump's shot from winning on the road at the toughest place to play in the NBA, so it's a pretty easy conclusion to come to when you look at the play on the court.

k, well the con
That's a true measuring stick?
A TNT Thursday night game when the Cavs were just starting to click..and James approached it like it was a playoff game.
Warriors were cruising right along and in the middle of an extended cross country trip.
James took it so seriously that he did not even play the next night and the Cavs lost to I believe the Pacers.

Cavs controlled the 1st qtr..not the game.
It was a dogfight for 3 qtrs which ended in a draw (plus a Cavs injury).
Overtime was controlled by the Warriors, which lead to a win, which is all that really matters.

Keep bringing up Love and Kyrie injuries.
They will be a reoccurring theme as the years go by.
James could and should have picked more durable pieces, if injury worries were why he left Miami.

BINGO...!

And anyone who watched GS could tell you they didnt play at their best. Non-biased folks will tell you Cavs are lucky GS started slow

OMG BINGO again...
this is 100% dead-on...

Yes we've already established that with the Bulls, Hawks, and now Warriors... anytime they struggle offensively it is 100% their own doing and a very lucky thing for the Cavs.
