It's happening!!! Eventually I foresee a system where you can by your all your teams games on an online stream or buy every game for a higher price. This is just the beginning of the nfl putting every game online. I am surprised that the first game will be on yahoo though.

Yahoo lands NFL's first internet-only broadcast; power rankings mail | The MMQB with Peter King

The amount Yahoo paid was not disclosed [update: Brian Stelter of CNN reports the deal is for “eight figures,” or at least $10 million], but one significant financial aspect is known: It will cost Internet users zero dollars to stream the game.

Yahoo sucks. I've been trying to access some of their shows and have had just problem after problem getting their shows to stream properly. Hopefully they have the bugs figured out by the time the game rolls around.

Unlike some NFL fans who hate the idea of games being played on just Sunday afternoon and Monday night, I personally hope for more opportunity to watch more games in different windows of time.

Yahoo Sports is my go-to online sports site. I love it.

So let me get this right.

A game at 8am between two garbage franchises? And we're supposed to be excited about this? :L

yahoo can't even get their email program to work correctly. I'm sure this new venture will get totally fucked up.

The more NFL football to watch, the better IMO!

It's called MLB.com

The NFL is wayyyyy behind.

Also every NFL game is available online already, just not in the US due to contracts they already have in place with companies like Directv.

It's yet another step in the death of cable/satellite. Sports are the only reason I still pay for cable. There are so many different streaming services that you can use. If they can get their toes wet and work out the kinks with a dogshit game like this one I'm all for it. If they can get this to work pretty seamlessly then it's only a matter of time before you can stream games through a service (like Netflix or Amazon Fire etc.). I'm all in.
