There isn't much doubt if the Tigers pitch like this they will win the division. Considering its only 5% of the season going to hold off on playoff tickets yet. 8-1 start is still great.

I'm with everyone on Joe Nathan. I was hoping they wouldn't bring him North, pay him to go away, anything. He won't be any better this year. His fastball is gone and he's not getting it back. He couldn't get guys to just swing and miss last year; teams were dying to hit against him. A healthy Soria is a much better option at closer.

There also isn't much doubt that the Tigers will not pitch like this.

I will take a walkoff single off his bat every day. This is all he needs to do for the Tigers. Contribute here and there. His offense is not needed so much as the glove IMO. A walkoff hit is icing on my cake.

when Royals were 7-0 they hyped them. Yahoo sparts,ESPN,and CBS sports.

ESPN did show hightlights 2nd story in of the game today. it ran a while 15 seconds.

The Tigers are on the right track finally after some disappointing years. They have put it together pretty well with the good hitting, great pitching, and even the Bullpen seems to be better. Even when the Tigers are not getting a lot of hits, they still get enough to win the game, and their only loss was decided by a single run.

I felt the same way a couple years ago when Sean O'Sullivan outdueled King Felix. It's weird. Had a little bit of that last night with Guthrie beating Gray.
