DJ do you need a loan?
I'm just asking people that don't seem to use it...
DJ do you need a loan?
Thanks Cdumler, I actually had reasoning to my waller pick... But I did not know he was suspended... I really just saw he was 6-6 and the analysis was loving his hands and speed...
My logic in getting him over those other WRs was that with the Jets QB situation, the last thing they need is more options to throw to... Kerley is fine, Decker is good, and Marshall is one of the best... Not to mention we have a nice young TE...
I got Waller as a backup plan in case Marshall goes down, now they could plug in another giant in the redzone!!!
That was my thought process at least... But did not realize he might be a bad egg off the field...
And as for your dropping down comment in the first round... I know, I wanted to drop down, just couldn't find a suitor...
I understand the thought behind Waller as the potential is there. Just the red flags for me are what scare me away and when I see a guy like Conley still on the board I think he is the late round steal for some team. They have figured out a scale that puts all of the combine drills together compared to the weight of the player and Conley was heads above every other player in this draft. That doesn't mean he will succeed but at least athletically speaking there is no one better in this draft from a strength/speed/size combo. Throw in he is the more pro ready of the two with having ran more than just a couple of routes and can play inside and outside at the WR position. He is also a very nice Red Zone player but just never quite got the shot to show off his skills at Georgia.
Where do you do your research??
Many different places honestly. draftbreakdown.com is a great place to watch videos on players where they actually show every play that a player in the game. I like to start there as I don't like to have the analyst sway my thoughts on the player. Too many of them get paid to hype up certain players by agents so hard to really trust what they are saying. So watching the film is where I start. I then go to the combine numbers and see if what I was watching in the games lines up with the numbers at the combine. If they do then that player makes a nice jump on my big board. If one or the other doesn't line up then I go back and take a look to see why that might be.
I then have a few sites that I go to that I trust a little more of what they say about players and what they have done. Then I look for any kind of information on how the player did in interviews or anything based on intelligence of the player.
So then I put things in perspective in the sense of how they actually did on the field trumps what they did at the combine. I also then rate things based on what round I would take them.
Such as Conley didn't put up that big of numbers with Georgia but they were also a running team and his combine numbers show an explosion number that is hard to ignore. So then as a 5th round pick or later he is the type of guy that is worth taking a shot on to become a star. I wouldn't take him in the 3rd or earlier though as those are reserved for players that both produced and show potential at the next level.
+1I WILL ... All I got is...![]()
Damn, that's a lot of research for something like this... Are you ever happy with your Broncos draft??
