Thanks Cdumler, I actually had reasoning to my waller pick... But I did not know he was suspended... I really just saw he was 6-6 and the analysis was loving his hands and speed...

My logic in getting him over those other WRs was that with the Jets QB situation, the last thing they need is more options to throw to... Kerley is fine, Decker is good, and Marshall is one of the best... Not to mention we have a nice young TE...

I got Waller as a backup plan in case Marshall goes down, now they could plug in another giant in the redzone!!!

That was my thought process at least... But did not realize he might be a bad egg off the field...

And as for your dropping down comment in the first round... I know, I wanted to drop down, just couldn't find a suitor...

I understand the thought behind Waller as the potential is there. Just the red flags for me are what scare me away and when I see a guy like Conley still on the board I think he is the late round steal for some team. They have figured out a scale that puts all of the combine drills together compared to the weight of the player and Conley was heads above every other player in this draft. That doesn't mean he will succeed but at least athletically speaking there is no one better in this draft from a strength/speed/size combo. Throw in he is the more pro ready of the two with having ran more than just a couple of routes and can play inside and outside at the WR position. He is also a very nice Red Zone player but just never quite got the shot to show off his skills at Georgia.

Im gonna select different players so we arent just agreeing on the same picks.

1st round - Malcom Brown to the Packers. I think Brown is just as good as Danny Shelton and both should be off the board by the time we are half way thru the 1st round. The Packers did bring back BJ Raji but he didnt play at all last year due to injury. Malcom is good enough to play NT or DE. Packers 2013 1st round pick Datone Jones hasnt lived up to his expectations.

2nd round - Laken Tomlinson to the Lions. Somehow Arie Kouandjio was selected before Tomlison and Tre Jackson. I have Laken listed #3 for OGs behind Sherff and Cann. Tomlinson has the size I like being 6'3" 323 pounds. In the Senior Bowl Tomlinson was giving Shelton problems due to his size and strength.

3rd round - Ronald Darby to the Chiefs. Darby isnt very big 5'11" 193 pounds but he makes up for it with a blazing 4.38 40 yard dash and a 41 1/2 inch vertical. KC has a very weak secondary and Darby can come in and start right away. The only knock on Ronald is teams running the ball at him but he doesnt miss tackles very often. I still feel Darby is a 1st round talent who is prolly drafted in the 2nd round.

4th round - Lorenzo Mauldin to the Steelers. Not sure if Jason Worilds would of resigned with the Steelers after being a free agent this year but his retirement came out of nowhere. The Steelers need a blitzing OLB and I feel Mauldin will fill that hole just fine.

I actually like 2 of my picks equally DGB and Ifo. DGB might have off the field issues but I dont wanna be one of those teams that is kicking myself down the road for not taking him. Teams that past on Dez Bryant and Randy Moss would love to go back and select them. DGB has the size the 49ers have been missing for years that can be used in the red zone. Boldin is likely to retire after this season so that gives DGB one year to learn behind him before becoming a starter in the 2016 season. I would love to have DGB and Torrey as the outside WRs while Bruce Ellington and Stefon Diggs fight for the slot position.

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was suppose to be a 1st round draft pick before his injury. 49ers love drafting injured players and stuffing them on the roster for the future. Rumor is he isnt gonna be ready to practice until the start of the season. I might of jumped on him too early with the 3rd round but I was nervous he wouldnt be on the board with my 4th round pick being so late.

Where do you do your research??

Many different places honestly. draftbreakdown.com is a great place to watch videos on players where they actually show every play that a player in the game. I like to start there as I don't like to have the analyst sway my thoughts on the player. Too many of them get paid to hype up certain players by agents so hard to really trust what they are saying. So watching the film is where I start. I then go to the combine numbers and see if what I was watching in the games lines up with the numbers at the combine. If they do then that player makes a nice jump on my big board. If one or the other doesn't line up then I go back and take a look to see why that might be.

I then have a few sites that I go to that I trust a little more of what they say about players and what they have done. Then I look for any kind of information on how the player did in interviews or anything based on intelligence of the player.

So then I put things in perspective in the sense of how they actually did on the field trumps what they did at the combine. I also then rate things based on what round I would take them.

Such as Conley didn't put up that big of numbers with Georgia but they were also a running team and his combine numbers show an explosion number that is hard to ignore. So then as a 5th round pick or later he is the type of guy that is worth taking a shot on to become a star. I wouldn't take him in the 3rd or earlier though as those are reserved for players that both produced and show potential at the next level.

Jeffro, apparently I should have made that trade with you... Too late now, but could have gotten one more player, besides Waller, who I wanted the whole time...

Damn, that's a lot of research for something like this... Are you ever happy with your Broncos draft??

So far yes. My top-3 picks fit my being very productive mold in college. Erving is a guy that has played all over the OL and has done well wherever they put him so with the Broncos having question marks at 3 OL positions but having some guys they have drafted that they are hoping step up I just don't know where the major hole will be on the OL so getting a guy that can play all 5 positions well is a nice get in the 1st round.

Kikaha is a guy that without the injury history is probably a top-15 pick. He has had 2 very productive years in college, is technically sound so he can play right away and expect good things from him, and meets the high character high motor that you are looking for with a high pick. He isn't the most athletic so that limits him a bit but there is no one more productive than this kid.

Hardison is another guy that is highly productive especially as a pass rusher. He wont' start year one for the Broncos as they have 2 very good DE's for the 3-4 but both are FA's after this year so this is a guy to add to the rotation year one who should be starting year 2. He is not made to take on double teams but the Broncos system has the front 3 more trying to penetrate and make plays in the backfield and that is exactly what he is great at. Plus the year of just being in the rotation gives him a chance to add some bulk to handle the run game a little more.

Grayson is a guy I am torn on. If you asked me 2 weeks ago I would be telling you the Broncos should use their 1st or 2nd round pick on him. I still wouldn't be completely against that but at the same time he is a work in progress. He had some very productive games and improved all 4 years of college so that all looks good but it did seem when the tougher competition came to town he really buckled. So this pick is more just in the hopes that learning from Peyton for a year this kid could really learn to maximize his abilities.

Conley--Maybe my favorite pick for the Broncos. We don't need a receiver to start day 1 or even maybe for the first two years really but this kid could be something special. He has the height/weight/speed combo that is hard to find. He has decent hands, pretty good route runner, and can play inside or outside and do well. Just a big fan of this kid.

Oh whoops misread that...I thought you were asking if I was happy with my draft so far. The Broncos' drafts I have been so so on. I have liked some of the picks. Last year's draft I loved the first 2 rounds with Latimer and Roby. I think both of those guys will be starters for the Broncos for a long time. Our 3rd round pick of Schofield though left a lot to be desired. He was a guy needing a red shirt year so I would have rather taken Brandon Thomas who before his injury was a 2nd round pick at the guard position. I liked our 5th round pick in Barrow though as he fits my high potential mold that I like to take in later rounds.

In 2013 I hated our 1st round pick of Sly Williams. I know some had him as a top-20 prospect but I thought he was too hot and cold to be the guy I wanted the Broncos to take. Throw in he was an older player already being something like 25 when we drafted him so at best he was a 2 contract type player and I like to take guys I can see on the team for at least 10 years in the 1st round. Alec Ogletree was the guy I really wanted and of course he then goes on to be very productive even year 1. I did like our 2nd pick though in Montee Ball. I know he had a terrible year this past year but that was more because of injuries. His rookie year though he averaged over 6 yards per carry over the 2nd half of the season and looked like a potential star. The Broncos in the 3rd round though are what keeps driving me nuts as they really seem to reach for a guy that is expected to go 2 rounds later. Webster looks like a decent player but I think the Broncos could have easily waited to the 4th.

So it has been a mixed bag at this point. Their first draft with Elway was amazing. Ever since then though they seem to hit on maybe 1 or 2 players and the rest are just huge busts. I don't think they have maximized their opportunities at this point.
