Key here is it looks like they gave up Foles PLUS picks for Bradford. This is no move to setup another move. This is the guy Kelly wants to lead his team.

Are you shocked by this move? Yes. Am I shocked by this move? Yes.

But, when Kelly took over Personnel for this team I was prepared to be shocked. Kelly is simply exceeding expectations.

Not sure if I agree he's the starter. I think he honestly thinks he can flip him but I think he gets caught with his pants down

You can't confidently tell me there is no other move here. There might not be, but to claim that you know…is pretty bogus. Nothing will surprise me and this is just day 1 of the new league year.

He may be. And if he is, God help us, we are ruined.

You don't cut what looks like a bad deal to most to flip a guy. If the guy was marketable for more than this, someone else would have paid STL directly. The fact that this move is being so widely panned is ample proof that it was made because Kelly has a conviction that this is the guy to take the Eagles to the promised land. I assume they have had long talks with the doctors and Bradford and have some confidence in those knees.

Its a gutsy move. Not a crafty one.

Well, Chip is doing it his way ... if it doesn't work he'll get fired where it would take him seconds be4 a college team will hire him for millions. Who knows ... maybe we're all in for a complete shock year where Bradford finally avoids the freak injury and leads us into the playoff? Then we lose him to Cleveland because we can't resign him and don't Franchise him :)

I get it he is BIG Balls Chip, but how could BRADFORDS market value be twice that of a young Nick Foles??? Or do NFL people think Foles blows???

They said that they have been talking about this deal for about 2 weeks. They also said it had been dead a few times. I can't imagine this trade without a physical and without Bradford being ok with it. Way too many if's for me to comfortable but lets see who else we get to help Bradford out. :D

I don't know about NFL people, but it's pretty clear to me that Chip believes Foles sucks. No way does he pull the trigger on this if he thinks Foles has a future as a starter in this league.

Quite a few aren't enamoured with Foles. It's telling there was competition for Bradford and not Foles. Reid had his shot and declined...he drafted him. But still, the 2nd rounder...

I have a very hard time believing Foles could not have been dealt for more, if Chip had waited until draft day.

Its obvious the Eagles really wanted Bradford and Bradford was in demand. How many of you have said you can't overpay for a franchise QB? If Kelly believes Bradford is that guy (and Foles is not), then the trade is an absolute steal.

No question his arm is much stronger than Foles, he is very accurate, he has more jump in his legs, and does a great job with play action....but the man has never been able to stay healthy.

Well I told my friend (Rams fan) 4 years ago that Bradford would be a superstar for them and that he was a great #1 overall draft pick…..Didn't turn out that way, here's to hoping he fulfills his college promise in Philly. *Gulp* :hope:

Superstar. And the 2nd acl was kind of freaky. So maybe we just roll with him.

Yeah I've had him in my 2QB fantasy league 3 out of 4 years. I traded him a week before he tore his ACL that last time lol. I would say "This is Bradford's big break out year!!" in the beginning of every year….never happened lol.

If you want to take a positive spin on it ... Bradford's never played with a good OL or good receivers at the pro level. He's also played in a very traditional system as opposed to the spread which is what made him the top pick in the draft. If he can stay healthy it's not impossible to think he can have a solid year. Heck, Chip made Sanchez a weekly 300 yard passer and I don't think he's nearly as good as a healthy Bradford.

If Bradford can stay healthy, he'll put up 30-15-4500 in this offense.

Problem is he probably won't stay healthy, and it was overpayment, imho.
