Old man Nestor and Pops lose to the Columbian cartel doubles team today - Canada still leads the Davis Cup tie 2-1 and can wrap it up with a win in either of the two singles matches tomorrow.

Another game for Milos, another Davis Cup World Group appearance for Canada.

Genie is on a nice run at the Wuhan Open in China, she's through to the semi-finals when she next faces Caroline Wozniacki.

Genie lost to Kvitova on the weekend, but she played a much better match. This week, Vasek is in China and Milos is in Japan.

Milos on to the quarter-finals in Japan after dispatching Jurgen Melzer in straight sets (6-4, 6-3)

Milos reaches the semi-final in Japan by defeating Istomin 7-6 6-3. He played well, but in my opinion was in better form against Melzer. With the win, he passes Ferrer and is in the 8th and final qualification spot for London. Next up is Gilles Simon in the semi-final and if he wins that match, he'll likely face Nishikori in the final.

Well, that sucks - Milos retires in his match against Juan Monaco (illness)

Genie cracks the top 5 in the WTA rankings (and then loses to Halep in straight sets at the WTA Finals). This is a round-robin event though, so she's not done.

The silence from the ITF has been pretty deafening,” she told a small group of reporters in Singapore ahead of the start of the WTA Finals on Monday.

“They are the ones who have actually the possibility of doing something as Tarpischev is head of the Russian Tennis Federation, which falls under the ITF and is also Fed Cup captain which falls under the ITF.

“The WTA has done all they can do. They certainly have shown they have Serena’s back and Venus’ back and he might have thought the comment was funny but it was anything but.

“Certainly this kind of bullying comment cannot be tolerated from anyone, but particularly from a high up official in the tennis world.”

Appearing on a chat show, the programme host said to Tarpishchev: “I was at the Olympics, where Maria Sharapova was in the final, playing with one, with one of the....” before the RTF head responded by saying “Williams brothers”.

So Rafa is missing the season finale in London to have appendectomy surgery. This opens the door for Milos to make the final 8 in London, but he needs to have a good tourney in Paris this week (or hope Goffin can continue his strong play and knock out Ferrer early).

/Also, Vasek and Nenad Zimonjic won the doubles title in Basel. Way to go Pops.

Milos Raonic just beat Roger Federer in straight sets (7-6, 7-5). Not too shabby for a guy who can't move and has no return game.

Edit: 45 winners to 21 unforced errors and the only break of serve registered in the match.

If Nishikori beats Ferrer later today, Milos clinches a spot in the World Tour Finals for the first time. It was a huge match for Milos, and his serve came up big repeatedly.
