I have to agree. I just see Petersen as another former BSU coach who will fail miserably in a big boy conference.
let's just all pray he has an epic public meltdown similar to Dan Hawkins......the world needs more of these

Time will tell. He's a good coach who took Boise to amazing heights. I hope he succeeds at Washington, no bitterness here for him leaving.

And Hawkins should be cut some slack if for no other reason than Colorado fucking sucks. They are easily one of the most pathetic, embarrassing Power 5 programs in the entire nation. Obviously he didn't burn it up there, but no coach since he's left has come even close to his winning percentage. That's how bad they are. Any coach who goes there is instantly set up to fail.

True, but Dirk Koetter also won big time at BSU then failed miserably at ASU.

To be fair Hawkins contributed to the demise. It was not the same program it is today that he took over

I don't think he did fail miserably. Now Todd Graham has done one hell of a job in his three years with the Devils, but remember this is ASU we're talking about. Not that they are a bad program by any means, but they are far from great. They hadn't had a winning season in four years when he got there and he went 40-34 during his time in Tempe. That's far from "failing miserably."

They were already headed for their demise. As much success as Gary Barnett had early there, he himself went 20-18 his last three seasons there. That started their path down the wrong direction. Hawk did have a losing record there and since then it has been a complete disaster. I'm not saying he was successful by any means, because he clearly wasn't. I'm just saying he walked into a bad situation. That was the wrong program to leave Boise for.

The freshmen and sophomores who just won the NC will be sophomores and juniors next year and none of the juniors who could have declared for the draft did so.

Underestimating the difference good coaching can make--this will not be the Michigan team of Brady Hoke and Rich Rodriguez.

In the five years before Harbaugh arrived in San Fransisco, the 49ers went a combined 33-47, placed no higher than 2nd in their division and never made the playoffs.
Also remember that the NFC West went from the worst division to the best division in the NFL in the same time period because of the rise of Seattle so it was a bit more extreme.

Harbaugh doesn't have to be the best coach but he led a team to a Super Bowl and 2 NFC Championships that were a play or two away from a Super Bowl in a 3 year span. And now he is prepping to play Utah, Oregon St and Northwestern. He is either going to build something extremely formidable or cash a check and flame out.

This post reminds me of when Michgan fans thought your offense was going to be awesome because they "stole" Nuss from Alabama.

That Chris Peterson is one year closer to doing is thing. Probably gonna be a long year in Seattle....

Yahh. It's hard to claim one thing is going to stand out on this team to be feared. The WRs and TEs they were grooming last year were starting to show some stuff as the season went on. They'll give some PAC12 D's some fits.

The Combination of our Punter and Defense. Its going to be hard for teams to score on us next year, especially if they have to drive the whole field. COuld rival the 2009 and 2011 defenses.

You know, they said the same thing after Woody won it all in 1968. This smells like history repeating itself.
