I'm not bashing Brady, but this is meaningless. If Brady played when corners could ride receivers, safeties could lay them out, and any defender was free to knock the piss out of the QB, his numbers wouldn't be the same. If Montana played with today's rules, he might push 80% and Marino might throw for 6000 yards....seriously

I agree 100%. Football was different in that Era. It was more Physical and tougher to play. QB actually got hit.

Tom wouldn't have made it a decade. He cries when he gets touched now. Go to youtube and google the Eagles 12 sack game against Troy Aikman in the early 90's. Brady would have been flopping like a fish

If Tom Brady weren't one of the toughest QBs in the league at QB sneaks, that might not be a moronic comment.

You could argue that just about all of the current NFL QB's are much more soft. Of course point at Brady though cause the Pats won again.

Thats what these guys dont realize, Brady does get sacked plenty but gets rid of the ball quicker than most, and has great pocket presence. With the exception of the 1 year he was out because of surgery, guy hasnt missed one game in 13 seasons, and he is called soft?

Brady vs Joe....I'll take either one, I don't care. Who gives a fuck who is the best. They played at diff times. The league when Joe played is a lot diff then now. I actually think it was tougher back then. The league now is geared for the offense, not so much when Joe played. I mean you can actually tackle a QB back then, get tough with the WR. Not so much now....shall I say the league now is pussified??

How you been, man? Just can't get enough of the ole Hoop, huh? :suds:

Brady knows how to read a defense and get rid of the ball in a hurry, something "scramble eggs for brains" Troy never did figure out. I guess he never really had to since his fame comes from handing Emmitt Smith the ball 30 times a game and watching other folks do the dirty work.

What if Brady had a full decade of Jerry Rice? What if Montana constantly changed targets and coaches?

A couple 'what ifs' that have no meaning really. Every team goes through different issues. IMO Brady ranks up there with the best and will be a first ballot HOFer. His only hope to be the undisputed GOAT is to win one more SB. Montana never lost one.

In his career, so far as I can recall, Brady has twice failed to finish a game due to injury, once had an injury that kept him from starting the next one, only once or twice in addition come out for so much as a play because of getting hit, and has publicly whined about injury exactly never.

Few starting QBs come close to that track record.

4-0 is still better than 4-2. By percentages of course. Joe is still the best but I put Brady behind him.

Wow before the excuses where Montana has 4 SB wins to Brady 3 wins now Brady got 4. The Patriots cheated and now we know the 49ers cheated. Now NFL League is softer.
