At the very least, Manning should be taking a pay cut. Plus...

I am really really hoping for someone that is a 3-4 coordinator. I personally think this front 7 is better suited to that defense. Especially Von Miller.

Miller would probably be better in the 3-4 but I am not sure our other players will be. Demarcus Ware is a 4-3 DE. Our linebackers are not ideal, definitely not the inside linebackers. I see there being a lot of turnover needed over a couple of seasons to make that shift.

Just read the article. Sure sounds like he`s saying a big " NO " to me.

You read too much into it then. All we have is a statement made by Kubiak a couple days before Fox was released, and the infamous "anonymous source" who says Kubiak is not interested. Denver and Kubiak haven't actually spoken yet, so there's nothing yet for Kubes to say no to. I think he'll at least hear Elway out.

regular season wins aren't worthless to most teams.

if he wants to play, somebody will pay him a lot. whether it's enough or he has the desire, we'll see.

:agree: Kubiak made that statement last week before Fox was fired. Not saying its going to happen but I'll wait until he says no again.

Demarcus Ware's best production was in Dallas as an OLB in the 3-4 under Wade Philips. I am pretty sure anyway.

Derek Wolfe is a pretty good 5 technique DE in a 3-4, and I think Sylvester Williams also operates best as a 5 technique. Potroast in the middle imo is the perfect NT.

Von Miller's pass rushing from the 4-3 came from (for all intents and purposes) came from the same spot. Easy to identify and they ran slide protection to his side. I just think he is versatile enough to move him around. It is easier to do that from a 3-4 and that is what he thrived in at Tex AM and was projected as coming into the draft.

The team has suffered in sack production since Dumervil left, and Ware really faded in production. He certainly had glimpses, but the pass rush was lacking this year. It was lacking last year for that matter.

Ware put up his best numbers as a 3-4 OLB under Wade Phillips. Who knows. Maybe bring back Phillips at DC and Kubiak at HC. What former Denver player/coach can we bring in at OC? It'll be like a reunion.

I stand corrected. Could of sworn I read somewhere that Ware did not work in the 3-4. Maybe it was another player.

Even though he played on the Defensive side of the ball, isn't Rick Dennison an Offensive Coach? Lol

I also read that the new contract structure makes it easier for Brady to be cut, should the need arise w/out the dead money hit that the replaced contract would have generated.
Too funny.

Brady's old contract was fully guaranteed meaning that if he was injured or deemed expendable because of diminished skill he was getting all of his $$$$.

The restructure leaves the injury guarantee in place, but leaves Brady unprotected from being cut if BB and the Pats deem him expendable. This is apparently the part of the CBA that no longer requires Bob Kraft to put all of the 3 years of guaranteed money in the NFL's escrow account. I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking I'm some kind of cap geek, it's just that one of the local sports talk radio shows had a guest who talked about for about 20 minutes.

I think it's safe to say that Brady isn't getting cut because he sucks any time soon and his cap #s are higher by a bit no matter what happens.

I agree. I see Brady as being one of those guys that knows when to hang them up gracefully and he really hasn't shown much age.

Dennison coached special teams for us, but he's currently the Ravens QB coach, so yeah he is.

Jason Cole said that he talked to Manning after the game and Manning's interest was "piqued" when he brought up Shanahan. He also said rumor has it that Shanahan and Elway have been speaking over recent weeks.

Was it one Chris Gasper?

Ok couple of things here...First off when Manning was signed with the Broncos he was irate at his agent because he told him the one thing he wanted was to be making what Tom Brady made and the agent well was being an agent trying to get as much as he could. Manning's wife is the one that finally convinced him to take the contract the Broncos offered.

Second Manning has reconstructed his contract while in Denver before the 2013 season to help get about $5 million in extra cap space. No one hardly even noticed that he had done this but yes he did actually change his contract to help the team.

Throw in he has actually told Elway that he is willing to take a pay cut to help the team out if needed. Elway so far has turned him down on that. Elway is one that wants players to get paid what they deserve. It is why so often in contract negotiations that we see teams sign for a little less with the Broncos in Elway does not try to lowball them at the beginning but breaks it down for them what the team can offer. He is very transparent. So it would not surprise me to see Manning take a pay cut if he were to stay with the Broncos for one more year.
