I did the same thing. Matchups change everything and the teams rankings at first are confusing sometimes. I ranked one team second that I didn't pick in a matchup. We need a better way of doing this IMO

But... Ranking the 10th team ahead of 1st and 3rd is really a huge difference no?

I guess you could say it this way. I think my wife is a 10 but when you compare her to Angelia Jolie she is only a 7. Matchups do change when it's head to head but I agree with nos that it shouldn't be a 7 team difference. Maybe 1-3 team difference. I think once we create a bar to judge teams on is where we will see similar/ more accountable voting. The BCS system had different values go into it strength of schedule, margin of victory, wins and loses, eye test so what I'm saying is we find our bar on judging a team then post that on first page of rules and just hope everyone uses that system. We can never force anyone to judge a team one way because some guys just pick favorites. I like more guys on this team then that team so that's the winner, is a way some do it. However I think if we set that judging bar we will see the rankings more similar then in the past.

Facts are... Hutson dominated in his era way more than TO did in his...

Not denying he didn't but TO had to compete with more. It is obvious. Hutson was one of the greatest, but TO was on his level.

Maybe so, but when you really look at ewch matchups it kind of changes how you look at the team and judging them, right?

If hockey, Wlk or Trojan don't vote then we have a fun 3 way tie. Either split the Vcash 1,666 each or have a outside voter (u 3 agree on) break the tie?

I'll vote but I'm stating my grievance first... Nos how are you going to argue the case that you're arguing when my offense was better than yours... Yet in my match you say his back 7 was the difference...? My Oline is much better than yours, my receivers are better, my TE is better and my HB is not as physical as yours but Thurman lead the league 4x in YFS meaning he was a much better receiver out of the back field... Then Riggins is 15 in rushing yards all time... FB draw would kill you with my Oline... Fact is TO shouldn't even be a part of this round... He started 2 OLB that ARE 3-4 OLB or 4-3 DEs... Lilly is the only player on his Dline that would put any type of pressure vs my Oline... And speaking of Blitz packages... I have 3 DBs with over 20 sacks 1 who has the most in NFL history 30.5 OVER 600 as a starting unit.. No way my team isn't supposed to be here... Bullshit...

I dont think some realize that I have 4 guys on my D-line and LB's that are part of the 100 sack club and Lilly isn't one of them. My top two corners can compete with anyone's. Brown could be a top 3 of all-time. My RB's would be unstoppable. Brown the power back and LT the speed, shifty guy and could also catch balls.
Brady is right behind Montana. 2nd best QB of all-time IMO with accomplishments. Peyton could #2.

Everyone has their own opinion. But I would like to put these 3 teams through a simulator just for shits and gigs after we vote.

I have 1 guy with 200 sacks... I'm not saying your team sucks, but no way in the hell were you stopping my offense... Warren Moon didn't have to be Montana nor Brady, I have THE best LT, numbers 1 and 2 interchangeable at guard of all time on any list, and a RT who was ranked 4 at the lowest and as high as 1, with a top 5 C of all time... No way Rice nor Allen was getting pressure... While your OLB had 100+ sacks (so did mine) you played a 4-3, which means 1 of them had to play coverage vs Shannon Sharpe or Thurman Thomas... Unless you plan to cover them both with safeties leaving Rice 1on1, or pulling Ray Lewis into coverage which leaves your middle open for Riggins to pound the ball... There is absolutely no way you can try to explain how you plan to stop my offense, while my defense is simple... Crowd the box... Your 1 receiver as stated is known to drop balls, your 2 receiver isn't better than my 3rd or 4th receivers... It's okay to be honest, we're all adults, if you disagree, by all means explain...:suds:

Yeah... Likely story...

Posted this on the other thread but decided to put it here too so my view can be discussed if needed...

My rankings of this draft...

1. WLK
2. Nos
3. UK
4. Shane

So like I said Shane had a squad, but not better than mine... And I voted for UK because with strength and weaknesses factored in and benches, I liked UKs Oline better... In my experience, the Oline is where you win and lose... Skill positions have rare players that do rare things, but those players need time from the Oline to make that happen... Felt that UKs Oline would do slightly better than Nos... That is why I went with J...

Well, because it wasn't... I love Warren Moon but what did he ever do when it mattered?

Montana > Moon
Campbell > Thomas
Csonka = Riggins
Smith < Sharpe
Hutson < Rice
Alworth > Bruce
Shell < Munoz
Parker < Hannah (This one is debatable)
Langer > Mawae
DeLamielleure = Upshaw
Yary > Dierdorf

5 for me 4 for you 2 ties... Also Montana over Moon should get 2 pts.

Oh yeah and one other thing. I never bashed your team, I simply said his back 7 on D made the difference for me. It's called an opinion. In case i'm mistaken was I the only one who voted against your team?

Unlike you my friend I don't have a problem with you voting for someone else. Both O-lines are great, shit most of our O-lines were great, that is not where something like this is won when you have the best ever blocking its just blocking, its up to the skill players to make plays.

Funny two people who had me ranked highest in the drafts went a different way in the voting, not one other person did that, the others who sent in rankings actually voted for the team they had listed highest in the rankings. :confused2:

Finally some actual dialog... Let's go with your rankings... If you and I are separated by 1 point (Rice should get 2 over Hudson and Sharpe should get 1.5), how can you argue his team would be smashed by your team yet would beat mine... I love to hear your opinion, I seek it many times... I remember hearing you say, "nobody stops Rice", which again goes against your vote... It was just interesting, and I could only call you out because you were one of the only 1 who left a response... My offense is sti better by the way, more continuity...

Rice should not get two over Hutson, Hutson actually still holds many records and lead the league more times than Rice did in receptions, yards and td's, you can have 1 but not 2.

How great was Sharpe really? He had like 3 seasons of 1,000 yards and 2 seasons he scored 10 td's, yippy. He was better than Smith but not worth more than 1 point.

How does anything I said about Rice go against my vote, I wasn't voting rice against the other team. I voted team vs team.

That's where we are going to disagree... It's not just blocking... Like IMO it's not just defense... There are rare occasions where an individual offensively can win a game... These drafts IMO, are about getting these great players and surrounding them with other great players that compliment their certain skill... It's why I went and grabbed Moon... His skill opened up things for Thurman who was one of the best receiving RBs ever, Shannon Sharpe who is one of the most dangerous TEs ever, and of course Rice and the other 3 top 10 receivers numbers wise of all time... Which I then protected Moon with an Oline to allow him to do his thing... Moon didn't do it when it counted like Marino, but neither had the type of teams we have assembled... Difference is the team surrounding Moon resembled a team he excelled for only now he has actual players that can help him...

Hutson looks great on paper, and I agree we have to look at people and how they dominated there peers, but Rice is 2... Sharpe made Gronk and every other TE that splits out now... Yippie is for having 1200 in 1967, not revolutionizing a position...

You're vote was his back 7... 2 of which were out of position, leaving either DT or Mathis to cover Thurman Thomas or Sharpe or playing Rice 1on1 which is rediculous either way you look at it...

While I definitely take Montana over Moon. Nos you really gotta get off the "when it mattered" as a be all end all.

otherwise Eli Manning and Joe Flacco should be kicking a lot of these hall of famers to the curb.
