Refs are calling this one tight. Haven't seen in this in about a month in a Pens game.
Hard hit from Despres. It's a tough call when a guy is low to the ice/reaching for the puck and head contact is made.
Just tuned in about 10 minutes ago but letting that shitbag Letang crosscheck a midget in the ribs, then letting Despres launch himself at Smid's head without penalty isn't what I'd call "tight".![]()
9 times out of ten that hit is called in today's NHL. In fact lesser hits are generally penalized.
Ironically, until the last 5 minutes of the 2nd, there wasn't any funny business. And there's been a ton of penalties.![]()
I missed the second period (hey, had errands to run), but based on the unbiased opinions at Calgarypuck, they feel Despres deserves a suspension. I have yet to see the hit.
And my goodness Brad May sucks as an analyst.
