Sox making moves early

It's on now! As could be expected, the Sox making their move on 2015, which was the plan all along.

Sale/Samardjiza/Quintana/Noesi?/Danks...heard Rodon starts in the pen maybe works his way into rotation.

Robertson and Duke shore up the pen.

Robertson, Duke, Putnam, Petricka, Webb, Jones

Got Laroche to shore up the offense which was not the area of need but doesn'[t hurt one bit.

And I bet more moves, maybe a LF, maybe another reliever, maybe another arm like Santana?

I was against going after samardjiza but for what they gave up it was a no brainer. I thought they were going to have to give up a lot more

yeah losing Semien and two prospects wasnt bad at all. We have to give the Yanks a pick(or two) for Robertson but that was a huge area of need.

They probably need to shore up the bench, and if they want to spend money on another stud reliever that would work too. A left handed LF would be great (Melky?). But they are pretty competitive now IMO.

The division will be tough next year, Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, and KC should all be in the mix. Depends as usual on injuries.

MLB.com's Scott Merkin reports the Mariners are in "serious talks" for White Sox outfielder Dayan Viciedo.

Merkin says Chicago is targeting a Seattle reliever for the return. Viciedo slugged 21 homers in 2014, but that came with a .231 batting average and .281 on-base percentage. He also rates very poorly on defense.

If they replace him with someone decent, absolutely. If they want to start Jordan Danks out there...yuck.

they just traded rienzo to marlins for reliever Dan Jennings. I cant say I ever seen him pitch but his numbers are pretty good

Hahn definitely targeting the Achilles' heel with the pen and getting a, hopefully, reliable closer in Robertson.

Samardjiza/Sale as a one-two punch ranks only behind Kershaw/Greinke out in LA according to an article I read today.

LaRoche was a nice bat to help in the pop department.

ALC is a tough division to be reckoned with and we NEEDED to make these moves in a big way to even be considered competitive ... we are now!

Still sorta wondering about the Minny Minoso thing though. A symbolic gesture of some sort?

Hell, I might even be interested again in this team.
